Here’s how you can catch treasure fish in Mario & Luigi Brothership.

First off, you will have to fish, but a certain condition needs to be fulfilled before you can get treasure fish and take them back to All Sand Island. As you will realize in the shop menu, treasure fish have been restricted to just two geographical areas: the Gulch Rock Sea and the Storm Star Sea - the last two seas that get unlocked in the game.

To access these seas, you'll need to progress in your story. After you've completed that part, the next thing is getting the Rarest Bait in the game. I bought 20 of the Rarest Bait's and divided the work between Mario and Luigi. I bought 10 baits with Mario and fished once in one of the two seas. Then, I continued with Luigi after using the other 10 baits.

This way, one or two treasure fish were found for each of the 20 baits used up. 20 baits may seem costly at 4,000 coins, but it is worth every bit of that price. After all, a treasure fish sells for 1,000 coins, and catching just a few net incomes makes a profit from the initial investment.

That’s the method I used to successfully catch treasure fish in Mario & Luigi Brothership.
