This guide explains the choice between Adaphne and Technikki in Mario & Luigi: Brothership and how it impacts the game’s cutscenes and quests.

Choosing Technikki means you'll get a cut scene with Technikki, the IDLE crew, and, of course, Princess Peach. On the other hand, selecting Adaphne leads to cutscenes centered around her character. Such a choice changes those narrative moments, but it has no real weight on the ending of the game, and there are no special rewards for it.

If Technikki is selected, Adaphne steps aside, and the adventure continues, with Technikki working on a device needed to cross the Fortress's Zokket protection barrier. To proceed, a part must be retrieved from Bowser’s Castle on Wayaway Island. This task remains the same regardless of whether Adaphne or Technikki is chosen.

After completing the quest, Adaphne reappears with an invention. The side quest tied to this invention takes place on Jellyfish Island. Completing it involves using the Adaphne Scope, which can later be upgraded. Both Technikki and Adaphne offer similar results for this upgrade, with no major differences between the two versions.

Go to the Great Lighthouse on the Gulchrock Sea and defeat the enemies inside the elevator to obtain the material required for the quest. After this part is obtained from , it can be delivered either to Technikki or Adaphne, depending on whom the player chose eaWayaway Island earlier in the game. Technikki will then construct an engine that, when installed on Shipshape Island, will allow that island to fly over the barrier, while Adaphne gives you an alternative.

Once the barrier is crossed, Fortress Zokket becomes accessible. Technikki grants fast travel by flying over the ocean map, while Adaphne provides the same ability with a visual difference—flying under objects instead.

Cutscenes also vary slightly after reaching Fortress's Zokket. If Technikki is chosen, Adaphne arrives to assist in a key moment. Conversely, selecting Adaphne leads to a scenario where Technikki provides help instead.

Choosing Adaphne shifts the focus to Jellyfish Island, where interactions with characters like Princess Peach, IDLE, and Technikki offer unique dialogue and scenarios. Both choices offer engaging content without altering the game’s core outcome, allowing players to pick based on personal preference for cutscene experiences.
