Here's a guide on how to unlock the Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.

You unlock the Undertaker when you defeat Gladius once. After that, speak with the iron menial in the round table hold. He sends you to the small-jar merchant, who has moved so that you can enter the room behind him. Inside is a boss fight you can lose. When the event ends, you meet the Undertaker and the Scholar. Speaking to them unlocks both as Nightfarers.

Undertaker's Hammer Abilities

The Undertaker uses hammers. She begins with the Undertaker's hammer. The hammer has a Prayerful strike. Her one-handed light chain has four hits. Reaching the fourth hit gives strong results with her kit. Prayerful strike gives damage, self-heal, and stagger.

Her charged heavy chain has two hits. Two-handing gives a vertical chain. One-handed is better for long chains. Two-handing is better for short trades in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.

Hammers you can find include Spiked Club, Morning Star with Bleed, Monk’s Flamemace with Affinities, Envoy Horn, No-Slowing Hammer, Ringfinger, and Scepter of the All-Knowing.

With strength and faith, Marika's Hammer fits her scaling. You can use her power stance chain, but her one-hand and two-hand chains are better unless you want to use two Hammers for a jump attack.

Build Overview

Her build leans on strength and faith. Vigor scales well. FP and stamina scale lower. Her skill reduces stamina issues. Her faith scaling allows seal use for self buffs or limited damage casts. Strength scaling lets her use colossal weapons and colossal swords with strong trades due to her skill.

Her passive, confluence, lets her cast her ultimate for free when allies or foes use certain moves, usually ultimates. Suppose there are multiple Undertakers, one ultimate triggers free ultimates for the others. She does not give free ultimates unless she spends her real gauge.

Her Skill, Trance, changes her movement and defense. When active, she moves faster without stamina drain, gains a dash roll, gains stamina refill when Trance begins, gains higher combo output, and gains toughness for trades in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.

She can activate Trance during moves, during hits, or while casting her ultimate. Trance also builds stacks for combo power as you land chain hits. With Trance active, she resists flinches and takes less damage. This lets her commit to trades with Relics that reward hits taken, hits landed, or chain action.

Holding the skill triggers the ultimate Trance. This uses your ultimate gauge. The effect lasts longer and gives repeated Deathblow dodges without input. It is helpful for long boss strings. You can also cancel into it with R2 to shorten the start. The choice is between using the dash-lunge ultimate or using Ultimate Trance for survival.

Her ultimate, Loathsome, is a long-range dash that also works in the air. It tracks targets at many ranges, deals damage, and can interrupt. It can hit airborne bosses. You can cast it in chains or while airborne. Colliding with terrain cancels it. You can cancel early to save gauge.

Remembrance Questline

After unlocking her, defeat a night lord to start chapter three. Fight through the Nightfarers in the round table until you reach the Chapel, where you meet Raider and Ironeye. Touch the wall, consume the shadow, then meet the Scholar in the gardens in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.

Next, get another Memory Fragment. This can happen after defeating another night lord or after expeditions. When you get the Fragment, start chapter five. Speak with the duchess, then go to the chapel. Speak with the iron menial to get your next task.

Trigger a great hollow shifting earth. Enter it, find the Scholar, and rescue him. He appears in the crystal castle library. Reach the rafters above the crystal chandelier, cross to the east side, and enter the wall opening.

Interact with the trapped Scholar to get his primal core. Finish or end the run. Back at the round table, the Scholar gives night-hued glass and bundled paper. Chapter ends. When leaving remembrance, you get the Undertaker chalice.

Chapter six requires you to kill Heolstor as the Undertaker. After the fight, you get the dismembered finger. This part can fail. Go to the ashen round table with the body. Before interacting with the body, stand near it and drop the finger in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.

The Undertaker speaks a line confirming success. Only after that should you interact with the body. Doing it in the wrong order forces you to fight Heolstor again. When done correctly, you get the Remembrance skin and the Glass Necklace Relic.

Relics

Leather monle case boosts physical attacks when you have a self-buff from an incantation—any self-buff works, including Golden Vow, Flame-Grants-Me-Strength, and weapon buffs. An extended spell duration helps keep the boost active longer.

The glass necklace boosts attack when you activate your ultimate. Successive hits increase the boost further. Ending an ultimate increases attack briefly. This Relic works well with Trance chains and long combos in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.
