Sniper Elite: Resistance | How To Unlock The M1895 Pistol
Eliminate Felo Beck with a rat bomb in Mission Two to unlock the powerful M1895 pistol in Sniper Elite Resistance.

In this guide, you’re going to complete the Kill List challenge for Felo Beck during the second mission, Dead Drop. The objective here is to eliminate the Commander using a rat bomb. This is how you unlock the M1895 pistol. It sounds straightforward, but this one can be a little frustrating to pull off cleanly, depending on how the enemy AI behaves during your playthrough.
Finding the Rat Bomb
To begin, you need to locate the rat bomb. Make your way to the building just outside the grocery store. The spot you’re looking for is an underground section connected to that building. Head down the stairs until you find a locked door.
You can pick the lock easily to access the room inside. Along with an SMG workbench, you’ll find the rat bomb placed on a bench. If you’ve already picked it up before, it won’t be there again, but this is the spot where it spawns.
Getting Into Position
Once you’ve got the rat bomb, head back up and get into position near the target. This part of the mission can be a bit of a pain. If you’re struggling with higher difficulties, it helps to switch to Easy or Very Easy mode.
That makes the encounter far less stressful, especially if you’re just trying to complete the kill list challenge. You don’t need to worry about staying undetected or completing the whole mission stealthily. Just focus on setting up the trap.
You’ll need to eliminate the surrounding enemies first. Once they’re gone, the Commander will remain in a heightened state of alert. The AI can be a little janky here. Sometimes, he stays aware or unsure of your presence, and getting him to patrol normally can be difficult. If he’s glitched into a spot or just standing in place, you can still work with that.
Setting the Trap
Place the rat bomb down near where the Commander is standing or walking. The placement needs to be close enough for him to walk over it—or at least be in the range of the explosion. Don’t worry about taking damage from being nearby yourself, especially in an easier setting. You can soak up a few hits if needed.
After you’ve dropped the bomb, wait for him to return to the spot. Sometimes, it takes a little while, and the behavior can be unpredictable. Once he’s near or standing over the trap, shoot the rat bomb using your sniper rifle. It will detonate on impact, and that completes the kill.
Completing the Challenge
Even if things don’t go perfectly or the target is still hostile when the bomb goes off, it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you get the kill using the rat bomb. Once that’s done, the challenge is marked complete, and you unlock the M1895 pistol as a reward.
The method might feel a bit clunky, especially if the Commander doesn’t behave as expected, but with some persistence—or by temporarily dropping the difficulty—you’ll get the job done.
This approach may be slightly unpolished, but it gets the results. Don’t stress too much about perfect execution. Just focus on completing the objective and collecting your new weapon. Once you’ve done that, you’re free to replay the mission however you want.
