Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar focuses on managing a thriving farm while taking part in the lively weekly market. This guide will walk you through the early stages of the game and how to earn money and acquire tools and other useful information needed for a beginner. 

Getting Started

The first step would be character selection. You can change the appearance later, so there's no need to worry. The game quickly introduces the bazaar with a short practice session, giving you a generous number of items to sell.

This ensures that you have some money available at the start to get the farm going.

Essential Tools

You will get Key farming tools gradually over the first few days: On day 2, you will receive a Watering Can and a Hoe. Day 3 will give you a Sickle. On day 4, you will get a Hatchet and your First Chicken on day 5.

For day 6, you will receive a Windmill (for crafting). In addition, day 7 will give you a Fishing Rod, and last but not least, on day 15, you will get a Glider.

This slow rollout gives you time to learn how to use each tool effectively before introducing the next one.

Building Good Habits

Getting into good habits early on makes things easy later on. If you greet everyone daily, it will build friendships and unlock events and benefits. Foraging is important because items on the ground are free money.

In addition, flowers are especially valuable when turned into perfume at the windmill, and they sell at higher prices than when selling raw flowers.

Make sure to eat every cooked meal that is offered. This will unlock the recipes. You can also purchase meals at the café to expand the recipe list. And on rainy days, take the opportunity to visit villagers' homes since some hide recipes inside.

Investing in Animals

Animals are the center of the farm. If you buy an extra chicken or cow early, it will pay off quickly. Cows unlock butter and cheese production, which will sell for higher profits.

You can push animals outside in the morning to graze and then ring the bell in the evening to bring them back in. Make sure to keep the feed topped up and plant grass so they stay happy when grazing outside.

Farming & Stamina Management

One of the most important resources is Stamina. The jump action will help you speed up farming and allow hoeing, planting, watering, and harvesting multiple tiles at once.

However, this will drain stamina faster, so keep a lookout for energy levels. The bath is a cheap and quick way to restore stamina, taking only 30 in-game minutes.

Cooking & Crafting

Cooking allows experimenting with recipes by adding extra ingredients to create variations. The windmill is the key crafting hub. If you can unlock it early, this will centralize all crafting in one place.

Also, keep in mind that crafting only works with items in the bag, and storage items don't count.

Maximizing the Bazaar

The bazaar is one of the important parts of the game. Each season will introduce new sales trends that give you bonus profits for specific items.

Keeping up with these trends is one of the fastest ways to earn money. Focus on the morning session during the first bazaar to avoid being overwhelmed.

The sprite cheer squad can boost product quality once it's unlocked. Give them gifts to increase their support, and this raises product quality up to five stars. This means higher prices at the bazaar.

Requests & Events

Requests are worth completing since they build friendships and unlock cut scenes. Moreover, it also unlocks heart events and small story moments that break up the farming routine. You can check Villager gift preferences in the menu to make gift-giving easier.

Best Early Upgrades

One of the most valuable early investments is bag and storage upgrades. Each costs 5,000. The bag upgrade is applied immediately, while storage upgrades are applied the next day.

You can also purchase a cow early, as it opens the door to high-profit processed goods like butter and cheese. You can also sell medals earned as rewards for extra cash at the bazaar.
