In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, horses play a very big role in helping you travel long distances and explore the world of Hyrule quickly and in a very fun way. While Echoes (magical creatures) help you travel long distances, sometimes nothing can beat an old-fashioned horse.
Here’s a guide on how to unlock both a rentable horse and a special horse for Zelda.
How to Rent a Horse
As you complete the first dungeon of the Suthorn Woods, you will clear a lot of rifts, eventually unlocking almost everything on the map as you start the “Searching for Everyone Main Quest.” During this part, you will come across a land called Hyrule Field.
Exit the Suthorn prairie above the woods, head over to Hyrule Field, and make your way around a grove of trees until you reach Hyrule Ranch.
Once you enter the Hyrule Ranch, the owner will tell you that one of his horses is missing, and you have to find it, which unlocks a quest called “Runaway Horse side quest”.
Leave the Hyrule Ranch and head west through a small canyon, where you will be able to spot a horse stuck in the middle of a tiny island.
Rescue the Horse and Take it Back to the Hyrule Ranch
Once you return to the Hyrule Ranch, the owner will let you pick any three of the nearby horses to rent as long as you want, except the white one, but we will go to that part soon. The last horse you ride will create an icon on the map so that you can easily find it when you dismount it.
How to Get Zelda’s Horse
The reason we couldn’t choose the white horse was that it was Zelda’s Horse, and still, we couldn’t access it that easily. First, we have to carry on with the main quest line, finish the quest called “Still Missing”, and repair the rift in Hyrule Castle by completing the quest called “Hyrule Castle Dungeon”.
Once you are given the quest to find the Land of the Goddesses, be sure to talk to Impa. She will start the side quest called the “Impa’s Gift” for you to finally get your own horse, so head over to Hyrule Field.
Once you get to Hyrule Field, you will see that the horses are no longer there. It was taken out and somehow fell into a rift, so now you have to fix the rift where you will come across a carrot farm and repair the rift by finding all of Tri’s friends.
Once you get the horses back, you will be able to pull a carrot out from the ground with Tri’s help. Don’t forget to learn the Carrot’s Echo. Using this, you will be able to call your horse anywhere you want.
