The single player DLC for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Freedom Cry, will be a standalone game for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. This means that players will not need to own the main game to have access to this content.
Despite the fact that Freedom Cry has been available for Microsoft's consoles users since December 15th, there's no information regarding a standalone release. Freedom Cry will be released next February 18th on Sony consoles and on February 25th for the PC.
Assassin's Creed IV: Freedom Cry follows the story of former slave Adewale, whom you may remember as Edward Kenway's first mate. It takes place 15 years after the events depicted on AC IV: Black Flag. The DLC has had very good reception.
