Gears of War 4 Goes Gold

It's official, Gears of War 4 has gone gold. Now the waiting game begins.

Head of The Coalition, Ron Fergusson, made the announcement on Twitter. This means all Microsoft has to do is ship the game.

Gears of War 4 takes place 25 years after the events of the original trilogy with the Lambent and Locust now exterminated. Humans are barely surviving the aftermath and attempting to survive without Imulsion. The Coalition of Ordered Governments have initiated Martial Law within wall cities to prevent people from venturing into the dangerous landscape, which is now home to dangerous wind storms called "Windflares". Players take control of the son of Marcus Fenix and Anya Shroud, J.D. Fenix, but who or what this new enemy has yet to be confirmed. They're aren't human but love killing as much as the Locust and Lambent.

Gears of War 4 launches for Xbox One and Windows 10 on October 11. Those who pre-order the ultimate edition can play it on October 7th.
