Best Buy Ends Gamers Club Unlock
The popular discount membership from Best Buy is no more
News by Grayshadow on May 19, 2018
The golden age of premium game discounts has ended. Best Buy has ended the popular Gamers Club Unlock membership program.
Only thing I can contribute to the Best Buy GCU reports is that 'GCU is dead', the memo pictured below was sent out today to employees and is real, current GCU members will get benefits until membership expires but cannot be renewed.

As you can see from the Tweet provided by Wario64 the measures have already been placed. You cannot purchase a subscription and the discounts currently available to members only apply during checkout. Those with the membership can still use the discount until their membership expires ends.
For those unaware, the program cost $29.99 and would give subscribers 2 years pass to:
20% off new gaming software
10% bonus trade-in credit
10% off pre-owned gaming software
20% off game guides
2x points towards gaming purchases
2x points towards gaming trade-ins
Special Gaming Offers
As you might imagine this was incredibly popular for those who purchased for than 5 games per year.
