Ride a kart with your squad in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite's fifth season kicked off today with carriages, viking ships and other objects not from the island dropping into the map. The rocket launch that concluded Season 4 tore reality apart and rifts can now be found all over (and jumped into!). The map itself has received a couple of new points of interest and two new areas, one of which introduces the desert biome. Traversing the island with friends is easier now with the introduction of the All Terrain Kart. A new season also means a new Battle Pass with new challenges and rewards is available. Oh, and if you're playing on the Switch, Gyro/Motion controls have been added.

Fortnite's Save The World mode wasn't forgotten either. The new Road Trip event brings Wild West-themed heroes and weapons with it, as well as the Challenge The Horde mode which revolves around defending a portable base and comes with its own separate skill tree. You could have a look at the entire list of changes, but you're probably already off to jump into rifts and get those new heroes, aren't you?

If you fancy a trip down memory lane, I previewed Fortnite almost a year ago now, back when Battle Royale hadn't made it the biggest thing and I wasn't bitter about having platforms shot out from under me.
