Anthem is set to launch in a few months and today BioWare did a livestream explaining a lot of new information. Included are weapon rarity, difficulties, and of course trading. It should be noted that the gameplay shown and discuss is in the game's alpha state.
Producer Darrin McPherson joins Lead Producer Ben Irving spoke about Anthem regarding the game's current status. First, the duo spoke about rarity, how the chance of obtaining rare weapons would depend on the player's level and the difficulty of the stage. The higher your level the better chance of obtaining something powerful.
In terms of rarity, the highest levels are masterwork and legendary. A masterwork is a higher power level than epic and comes with a masterwork property that adds another ability. Legendary is more powerful than masterworks and give the ultimate version of the weapon.
Every weapon has a score that when combined makes your gear score, similar to the Light system of Destiny. Inventory will be limited but it wasn't made clear how big it'll be and finally, recipes will scale with the player.
Heavy weapons were spoken about and can only be used by the Colossus class and components. Components allow the player to extend specific perks such as magazines and flight time.
Those seeking a challenge will have 3 difficulties at launch that include Lancer, Freelancer, and Master followed by Grandmaster 1, 2, and 3.
In regards about trading, it was confirmed that players cannot trade with other players. Players who want specific weapons will have to earn it through gameplay or craft them using materials earned by deconstructing weapons.
Anthem launches on February 22nd for Xbox One, PS4, and C.
