Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will retell the legendary tale of Goku during the Dragon Ball Z series. However, Bandai Namco has confirmed that Goku won't be the only playable character. With Gohan, Piccolo and Vegeta confirmed as playable characters.
With the earth at stake, the Z Warriors stand to face the growing threats.

Each one of these characters played a major role in Goku's journey. Gohan kills Perfect Cell after Goku sacrifices himself, Piccolo aids Goku in his fight against Raditz and several powerful enemies, and finally, Vegeta eventually becomes Goku's ally after the Saiyan article.
In addition, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Shinhan, and Chiaotzu has been confirmed as supporting characters. These characters will aid Goku but won't be playable.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will follow Goku during the events of Dragon Ball Z. It won't be a 1 to 1 recreation, with characters never before seen in the franchise showing up. This includes Launch from Dragon Ball.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot launches in 2020 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. I had the chance to play the game at E3 2019 and thought "as a fan of Dragon Ball this game made me smile all throughout."
