A new Ninja Gaiden could happen

Team Ninja is notorious for making some acclaimed series. Their recent game, Nioh 2 will launch for the PS4 next month. However, the studio is also known for the Ninja Gaiden series. A franchise is known for challenging gameplay before Dark Souls took up the mantle. For those wondering if Team Ninja would be interested in a new game, the answer is yes.
Speaking to IGN in a recent interview, Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda stated that the studio has an interest in creating another Ninja Gaiden game.
“The core members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden want to make a new game,” Yasuda stated. “We are aware that some fans wanted Ninja Gaiden more than Nioh 2,” he also admitted. Personally speaking, while I’m very excited to play Nioh 2, I’m definitely one of those fans who has been pining for a new Ninja Gaiden game above all other Team Ninja projects for quite some time.
That being said a new game could be developed. The last core game in the series Ninja Gaiden 3 didn't perform well compared to the previous 2 core installments. However, like the previous 2 core games, a remix version launched in 2013 called Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge. With featured all previous downloadable content and made improvements to the game. The last installment Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z launched in 2014 to poor reception.
Hopefully, we will get a new installment soon.
