Astral Chain Action Trailer Provides All the Basics

August is turning out to be a busy month of game releases. With Life is Strange 2 Episode 4, Control, and Astral Chain. PlatinumGames has provided a new trailer for the game, showing off the basics players need to know in a lengthy 9-minute trailer.

The trailer includes a member of Neuron, a police task force charged with fighting the Chimera, not from Insomniac's Resistance series, but an alien invading the Ark; humanity's last bastion. Neuron uses Legions, living weapons, that are connected to the player through Legatus. What follows is a basic tutorial.

Players can use a baton or guns to inflict damage or summon Legions for added damage. These include Sword Legion for close combat, Arrow Legion for long-range, Axe Legion for heavy attacks, and Arm Legion for powerful punches. The Axe and Arm Legions are used to destroy certain enemy defenses.

Legions can act independently or attack alongside the player for "chain actions" for specialized attacks like blinding targets or sending them flying.
