Brazilian President Promotes Projects With Mario, Sonic Music
Green Hill Zone somehow equates to laying concrete.

President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro has posted a series of videos displaying highway and road construction around the country. Oddly, these are showcased with stage music from classic games like Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Super Mario Brothers, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Like most politicians, it is almost certain that Bolsonaro does not create any of these videos himself. In a country where copyright laws are lax, it is unlikely that the social media managers really considered fair use or bothered to contact either Nintendo or Sega.
Some people have viewed these development projects as environmentally dangerous and that the videos are simply propaganda. It seems almost surreal to associate government agendas with a speedy blue hedgehog or mushroom gorging plumber. There is also speculation that Bolsonaro’s children are videogame fans who are pushing constant references to the Brazilian public. Years from now, Brazilians who are exposed to more videogames may have strange, political, or nostalgic associations when hearing classic tunes and soundtracks.
