Buy Destiny Digitally on Xbox 360 or PS4, Get a Free Upgrade to Xbox One or PS4

Deciding which platform to buy Destiny on just got a lot simpler. Bungie announced that those who purchase Destiny digitally on PS3 or Xbox 360 can upgrade to the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game for free. The program applies all Destiny content included in the Guardian or standard editions of the game, as well as the expansion pass. Redeeming the free upgrade will allow you to keep the previous generation version of Destiny as well.

Consumers can only upgrade within the console family. This means you can only upgrade PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One. Save data, Guardians, progress, stats and gear will be transferable between both versions, but only within the same console family.

Unfortunately this offer doesn't apply to any physical version of Destiny. Physical copies of the game that include the expansion pass can transfer to a PS4 or Xbox One but a seperate Xbox One or PS4 copy will need to be purchased to enjoy the game.

Destiny is an upcoming open world first-person shooter developed by Bungie and published by Activision as part of a ten-year publishing deal. Destiny is set to release on Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One September 9 worldwide.
