Creative Assembly Developing Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly has been overly occupied with the Total War series, with new expansions being released almost every year, which ended with their latest release, Total War: PHARAOH. While their highly anticipated sci-fi first-person shooter, Hyenas, was canceled by SEGA last year, rumors circulated that they might be devoting their workforce toward the Alien: Isolation sequel, Alien: Isolation 2.

Finally, the news about Alien: Isolation 2 broke when Creative Assembly celebrated the 10th anniversary of their sole survival horror game. Even though the game hadn't been relevant to the studio for quite some time, fans were correct in thinking something was amiss if such events were being thrown for it.

While survival horror remakes are released every year, and Konami's Silent Hill 2 remake seems to be a massive hit, SEGA didn't want to stay behind the race. During the anniversary celebration, Creative Assembly acknowledged the continuous backing of Alien fans throughout the years and stated that it was a major factor in the highly anticipated sequel to Alien: Isolation.

There's hardly any doubt that gamers love Xenomorph-centric games, and the recent success of Aliens: Dark Descent indicates that, too. Based on their track record of Xenomorph-centric games, the statement only pointed toward the coming of Alien: Isolation 2, and the original team behind Alien: Isolation is currently working on a sequel.

Why not, though? Alien: Isolation is considered a cult classic, although it was never financially successful for SEGA, even though it is widely considered to be one of the best Alien games ever. Dead Space Remake was highly praised by critics last year, and even though Alien: Isolation was released in 2014, it still has a fair number of current players compared to several recent big-budget AAA titles. It might be a worn-out game, but it is still good enough for anyone seeking a top-notch space horror game.

The Survival Team at Creative Assembly is already at work on Alien: Isolation 2, but we won't hear much about it just yet because the press statement merely announced that development is underway. But this is soon to change and will quickly rise to the top of fans' expectations for another cult classic Alien survival horror game.
