Death Stranding releases in a few months and during TGS 2019 Hideo Kojima revealed over 30 minutes of new gameplay. Highlighting the joys of delivering packages.

The trailer shows protagonist Sam about to head out and deliver supplies. In the interface, we can see weight limit, a "Like" system, stamina, and boot durability. We also see Sam's blood count, BB's happinesses, and 6 craftable materials.

We also get to see that Sam can fabricate new items such as weapons, equipment, and more. The map itself can include multiple points as you construct your journey.

Death Stranding takes journeying very seriously. With Sam having to tranverse large distances and take in mind things such as cliffs and water velocity. In other exploration games, these environmental hazards aren't that big of a deal but in Death Stranding these are critical details in your journey. Everything you have is finite, including the length of the rope used to repel down.

Sam can take large amounts of cargo and the player must balance Sam to prevent him from toppling over. Sam has 9 stats that include movement speed, balance, rugged terrain resistance, sync level, battery capacity, stamina/fatigue resistance, carrying capacity, resistance to falling unconscious, lung capacity, and balance recovery. Sam can equip items to boost certain stats as well.

The scan, which is on cooldown, will display vital information about what could be hazardous. For example, we see Sam attempting to cross a river and the scan shows specific sections where it's safe to cross.

And Monster Energy is in the game, which is more valuable than water. Recovering stamina when consumed. There is hidden cargo in the world that opens up side missions.

Combat was shown as well, with Sam engaging in third-person combat. Sam can increase his speed but requires battery power. With the demo ending with a Wolf-like creature.

Death Stranding does look interesting, with a lot of focus put into micro-managing your statistics and items. With traveling being a huge focus and highlighting the fortitude needed to explore such a large area.

Death Stranding is set to launch for PS4 this November 8th.
