Did Sony Tease a Bloodborne Remake at the PS5 30th Anniversary Theme?
Sony dropped a limited PS5 30th Anniversary theme but also hinted about a Bloodborne Remake in the thanking video.

Sony has been promising PlayStation 5 themes since the console's formal introduction, and they finally delivered—not only a theme for the main menu but a complete overhaul of the PlayStation 5 user interface. Again, fans have been essentially screaming for Sony to address this because it was a big part of the PS4 and something that Sony executed well, and fans loved it. However, this has not been the case with the PS5.
It all changed today, and what's even better is that these nostalgic themes offered by Sony are all free and based on all of the PlayStation consoles. Along with a special 30th Anniversary theme, there is one for each of the PlayStation 1, 2, 3, and 4. While you activate it, the theme continues to display in the upper half of your screen—roughly a third of the screen while you're hovering over a game.
Hovering over a game causes it to appear, almost like an overlay on top of the backdrop picture. Although they altered the audio, the design is similar across the user interface. The sound effects that play when you choose one of these themes are really related to the PS1, 2, 3, or 4, and it's just incredible. Also, the PS5 still plays the wistful PS1 launch music, which is a great throwback to the system's early days of SIE. This theme seemed like a perfect gift for those who were lucky enough to get their hands on the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection.
While it's fantastic that Sony is doing this, there's a catch. Sony has indicated that this will only be available for a short time. The specific duration was not specified, but I would guess a few weeks to a month or two. We will only get the opportunity to enjoy it for a limited period, and there are already individuals protesting against it. Clearly, however, this is frustrating. PlayStation's 30th Anniversary has been much discussed, and this trend seems likely to last for some time. Therefore, it is difficult to predict if Sony will reconsider their stance on this.
This may be setting the stage for themes, which is something I find intriguing, isn't it? This might pave the way for universal theme support if they can pull it off on the PS1, 2, 3, and 4's 30th Anniversary in the same manner, wouldn't you agree? Perhaps they are only giving it a trial run before bringing it back or formally releasing it; if so, they may even re-release these 30th Anniversary themes. Still, it seems weird that they would release something so fantastic and then announce that it would only be available for a short while. Therefore, I am crossing my fingers that they reconsider it.
Additionally, Sony displays a video playing in the background, thanking fans for the 30th Anniversary. This video doesn't really include anything noteworthy; however, one thing that caught people's attention is that they seemed to pull off the Bloodborne thing right at the end when showing the text "It's About Persistence".
A Bloodborne remake has been the subject of much discussion; the last scene in the teaser suggests that there might still be something since there's been talk going on about Sony acquiring FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa. Throughout the clip, Bloodborne is seen for the first time. So, it's no surprise that fans would hope for a huge Bloodborne remake surprise from Sony. The idea itself is motivating to think about, and perhaps they are planning to do so. The release of these nostalgic PS5 themes that people have been begging for and showing off Bloodborne at the end of the 30th Anniversary trailer is clearly an attempt by Sony to tease the fans.
Whatever Sony is doing, it's impossible to look at this and not experience an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. Although many had hoped that Sony would host a special event to mark the occasion, it is now obvious that this will not be the case. Considering that The Game Awards 2024 is approaching in only ten days, certainly an announcement about the 30th Anniversary event would have been made by now. For the gaming awards, Sony will undoubtedly save any major announcements they may have in the works. Let's hope Sony doesn't let the fans down.
