In ARK: Survival Ascended, Genesis Part 1 hands out its best gear through missions rather than caves and drops, and every mission has its own loot table, so the wrong pick wastes your time. This guide covers which missions pay best, how the crates work, and where the high-end loot comes from.

Mission rewards are mission-specific, so repeat whichever mission drops the item you want. Every mission also pays Hexagons for the HLN-A shop, and for those, you grind hard missions or spam quick ones. Bog Beatdown on Alpha pays about 36,000 per run, and Moeder pays a similar amount while counting toward progression. Races cap at roughly 1,500 Hexagons but finish in about a minute, and Gotta Go Fast on the volcano pays 900 in a single minute. Dead Heat, Saber Slalom, and Bog Rally pay 1,200 to 1,500 in a similar time.

To locate a mission, open your inventory, go to the missions tab, select it, and choose Track Dispatch Terminal, which marks it on your map. Teleporting with HLN-A clears the marker, so set it again. At the terminal, press E and pick your difficulty from the radial menu.

Ark Survival Ascended Guide Hexagon Crate Tiers

Hexagon Crate Tiers

Never buy a crate in the open, since it is consumed instantly and the contents drop into your inventory. Tier one leans toward consumables, tier two toward weapons, armor, and saddles, and tier three toward Tek gear, structures, Mining Drills, and Element. Lower tiers can still roll higher tier items at worse quality, so target the tier holding what you need.

Outposts and Treasure Bottles

Outposts are the strongest loot source on the map and spawn at fixed points across the Ocean Biome, so fly them until one appears. Each has three difficulties that raise the level and number of attackers. Bring a Brigantine with upgraded cannonballs and unlock some ship skills first, since no creatures are allowed in the naval fight and ships improve only through skills.

Stay aboard for the first phase and destroy the artillery towers: six on Gamma, eight on Beta, and eleven on Alpha, while enemy ships attack. Reinforced ammunition one-shots most structures and sinks ships fast, and you swap it in from the ammo box with R.

Then go ashore, fight the thralls and Kaprosuchus, and collect Dynamite. Five charges open a small stash and ten open the final one, but leave one half destroyed, and the thralls will steal your Dynamite and reset it. The last stash spawns a boss, and killing it starts a one-minute escape timer before the island kills you. The outpost then collapses, leaving the loot in the center.

Treasure bottles work as treasure maps. Collect them along the beach or from a ship you sink, activate one to reveal the location, then dig it up with a Shovel. The Parrot points out nearby beacons, cave loot, and apex creatures your level can open.

A couple of easy Outposts will hand you near-capped weapons and armor faster than anything else in ARK: Survival Ascended Genesis Part 1.
