Don't Worry, Star Field Is Still Happening, Despite The Pressure From Fans
Even with the increasing demand, Starfield is still happening and will be shown off at the Starfield Direct.

All eyes seem to be on Bethesda with regards to their upcoming Sci-Fi experience, Starfield. This pressure is on due to the company's parent company, ZeniMax being acquired by Microsoft and the fact that Starfield, Bethesda's upcoming space-faring RPG, is the first major title being developed since the acquisition back in 2021.
Bethesda is well known for releasing games that change gaming as a whole and oftentimes set new standards for their genres, as seen with their previous releases of Skyrim and Fallout 4. Despite how successful Bethesda has been, there has been ever increasing pressure put on the developer, especially with regards to its upcoming RPG Starfield, since the ambitious sci-fi title is the first single-player RPG that Bethesda has made in almost a decade.
Another reason for the mounting pressure on the developer is probably because Starfield is a first-party Xbox exclusive title, a first for the company. This exclusivity was initially met with hesitation by longtime fans and players, mainly because of how much the Xbox first-party pipeline has dried up, with both Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite leaving massive holes to fill, something that Microsoft has been struggling to do. Titles such as Redfall were meant to help alleviate the pressure but instead it has sadly left more to be desired.
With the reception of Redfall being less than glamorous, it only makes sense that all eyes be turned to Bethesda. The developer is known for rather rocky releases. However, they've been staying quite tight-lipped on Starfield's development, which has had its issues such as being delayed after the Cyberpunk 2077 backlash but we will finally get to see more about the game when it is shown off at the upcoming Starfield Direct. This will be the first time we will see the game, aside from Gameplay trailers.
There is plenty of pressure riding on Bethesda's shoulders. The game developer will need to ensure that all things will go smoothly for if it doesn't, then this may ruin both their reputation and the trust of their long-time fans. Hopefully even with the mounting pressure, Starfield will be able to impress, considering that Microsoft put more time and resources into it than they did with Redfall. We will have to wait and see what Bethesda has in store at the upcoming Starfield Direct.
