Here’s everything you need to know about all the endings in ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights

Game Guide by Ornstein on  Feb 04, 2025

A long and challenging journey with a lot of fighting, exploration, and rich lore for its player, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights takes its inspirations from Metroidvania and Soulslike and delivers an immersive journey with many endings, and its endings rely on player actions. Ender Lilies, not surprisingly similar to NieR, offers a variety of endings with actions played in-game.

Thankfully, having played through it, you can reload near its end in an attempt at several endings without having to re-play your entire journey. In this walkthrough, we will view how you can access all three endings in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights.

Hinterlands Ending: Easiest and Most Sad Conclusion

The Hinterlands Ending is the easiest to access but least satisfying in terms of the conclusion of its narrative. To access it, you can enter the Stockade zone. To access, you must first go right from Execution Grounds, then go right and make your path towards a high room in terms of its height.

Get to its height and pull a lever to access a locked doorway that is out of range beforehand. That takes you to Hinterlands, and in Hinterlands, one is in Land's Edge, a peaceful and most probably safe zone.

When players arrive at this location, they will see a field of flowers in front of a big, glinting gateway. To make room for the conclusion, they will have to cleanse one of the flowers, putting Lily into a deep sleep state. After waking, she will receive a message saying that she must depart, having failed at her ultimate quest.

The game is taken to the principal menu, and you can re-play and try a new conclusion if you want to. This conclusion, in its simplicity, leaves a lot of plot threads unfulfilled and is most broadly regarded to be the least satisfying.

The Blight Ending: Sad and Heroic Sacrifice

The Blight Ending is about getting to the end of the game and defeating the final enemy, the Blighted Lord. To access it, you must, however, not obtain all of the Stone Tablets, for obtaining them will allow one of the alternative endings.

To go to the location of the Blighted Lord is no simple accomplishment; you must first navigate your way through Ender Lilies' most deadly and most challenging section, The Deep. It contains many violent enemies, challenging platforming parts, and danger that will challenge even experienced players.

Before you can defeat the Blighted Lord, you will have optimized your build, leveled your spirits, and acquired all manner of upgrades you can possibly have.

Once the fighting begins, players confront the Blighted Lord with attack moves and destructive capabilities. Defeating him marks the end of the game, but not with salvation in mind.

Instead, Lily must sacrifice herself to seal off the expansion of the Blight, and a sad but heroic conclusion is reached. Although this conclusion brings a resolution, it is a sad conclusion to the narrative.

Secret Ending: Ender Lilies' Real Conclusion

The Secret Ending can be considered Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights' real conclusion in that it provides a more conclusive and satisfying conclusion to the narrative. In order to access this conclusion, two key objectives have to be completed prior to fighting the Blighted Lord:

  1. Obtain all of the Stone Tablets scattered throughout the game.
  2. Forge the creation of the Aegis Curio, an important tool for use in the final encounter.

Both objectives require a lot of research and dedication, as collecting all of the Stone Tablets takes a long period of time and a lot of work. Nevertheless, it will pay off in the end. Once both the Stone Tablets and the creation of the Aegis Curio have been acquired, then and only then can you fight the Blighted Lord normally.

For the final encounter, you must cleanse the Blighted Lord by wearing the Aegis Curio when having reduced him to zero life. Unlike in the Blight Ending, this act will change the boss to a secondary, even more powerful form.

That part of the encounter is much harder because the Blighted Lord will become even more hostile, dealing even more damage and regenerating its pool of life.

If players can survive such a revulsive battle and destroy the actual form of the Blighted Lord, then they will have access to the Secret Ending, and in fact, it is the conclusion of Lily's journey.

It is most satisfying in its conclusion because it concludes the war with the Blight and grants Lily her destiny without such a sad act of sacrifice in the Blight Ending.

Finally…

The three endings in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights rely on three scenarios, and one of them decides Lily's fate and that of her world. Hinterlands creates an early escape but doesn't wrap up the narrative at all.

The Blight Ending is a bitter sacrifice, but in that of the Secret Ending, you can have the most in-depth and satisfying conclusion to Lily's journey.

Completing all three endings is a satisfying activity for completionists and lore-lovers, proving Ender Lilies' narrative abundance. With such a walkthrough, you can try out all options and choose the fate of the kingdom and its sole remaining priestess.
