Those hungry for more Final Fantasy after the release of the remake of Final Fantasy VII can dive into the world of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition this August 27th.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles takes place in an unnamed fantasy world inhabited by 4 races. Players choose 1 of the races and travel the world in search of myrrh, a substance used by shattered crystals from the Great Crystal that protect the races from the toxic miasma. All while learning the source of the miasma.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles released back on the Gamecube and it received a mostly mixed reception from fans and critics. The fantasy world and colorful bosses were a highlight among players but the major issue was the restrictive multiplayer requirements. Players needed 3 Gameboys Advances or Game Advances SP and Gameboy Advance Adaptors to connect to the console to play the multiplayer option. There were no alternatives so for most players, the multiplayer is inaccessible due to the expensive requirements.
This was also the case for another title, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure. This underappreciated game had an excellent cooperative campaign but had the same restrictive requirements.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition launches on Switch, Mobile Devices, and PS4 this August 27th.
