Nintendo confirmed today that Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will launch on February 20. The latest installment in the platforming series was thought to launch on February 13 but the date has been settled by Nintendo themselves.
During the reveal Nintendo showed new gameplay for Kirby’s newest adventure. Like past installments in the game players guide Kirby by tracing lines using the Wii U Gamepad. Kirby can use his notorious copy ability to take the form of the creature he absorbed to bypass obstacles.
Nintendo has confirmed that Amiibo support is available for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Currently players can link together their Meta Knight, King Dedede, or Kirby Amiibo figurines to transform Kirby into different forms. Four-player support will be included, allowing players to take control of various creatures from Dreamland to aid Kirby in his quest. These players won’t require of tracing lines to navigate the environment and can pick up Kirby and move him across the environment.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is set to release on Wii U on February 20.
