Somehow, things seem to have gotten worse for Lord of The Rings: Gollum. After a disastrous release, an apology was shared by Nacon and in a new report, it has been revealed that the apology was written by none other than the infamous AI- text generator - ChatGPT. To somehow make matters even worse, the report also claims that the game's developer, Daedalic Entertainment, had zero knowledge of the apology being written and that the decision was made by Nacon, the game's publisher.

Lord of The Rings: Gollum, has been one of the worst releases of all time, let alone of 2023. The game was released in a completely unplayable state, even here at NoobFeed, we couldn't play the game to write the review. The game was littered with multiple technical problems leading to the game receiving numerous negative reviews from both players and critics alike. Even if players got a chance for the game to actually work, the gameplay was described as uninteresting and incredibly derivative, with many players finishing the game feeling unsatisfied. However, the developers behind the game have shared information about what happened behind the scenes and the game's troubled development.

However, there seems to be more to the story as employees from Daedalic Entertainment were interviewed anonymously by the German gaming outlet, GameTwo, the interview went into detail about the relationship that the developer had with Nacon. Probably one of the most interesting things to come out of the report has to do with the apology that was posted on the official Lord of The Rings: Gollum Twitter account. According to what was shared in the interview, the apology was not written by anyone from the developer but was instead written using ChatGPT. To make matters worse, the developer had no knowledge of the apology being written or what the apology contained, this was all handled by the game's publisher, Nacon.

The use of AI was probably why the apology came across as disingenuous and vague in its commitments. Gollum seemed to have been a disaster waiting to happen, the game was intended to be a AAA game release, yet the game only had a budget of around 15 million Euros. To give you a good comparison, the average budget for a AAA game is around $50-$300 million dollars. Because of their incredibly limited funds, many of the game's features had to be down-scaled or left completely unfinished. With this new information, it would seem that the downfall of Gollum has less to do with Daedalic Entertainment and more to do with Nacon.
