There are several new Marvel games already in development: Marvel's Spider-Man 3, Marvel's Wolverine, and others. Several probable upcoming Marvel games include Marvel Iron Man, which has been in development for some time, with rumors of playtesting dating back two years when EA mentioned that the game could be released in 2025. Black Panther is also under development, and now there's an update on Marvel's Blade.

A few months back, Marvel's video games, including Marvel's Blade, were formally announced for the 2024 New York Comic-Con. Marvel's Blade is an action-adventure video game based on the Marvel comics character Blade. The game is being developed by Arkane Studios, the same team that developed both Dishonored titles, Prey and Deathloop, all of which were very good games, except for Redfall, which haunts Arkane Studios in their nightmares for a while.

Marvel's Blade, Next-Gen Xbox, Xbox Prime

Unlike other Marvel games, Marvel's Blade will not be an open-world game. The game will take place in the middle of Paris and will feature some explorable regions. As Blade, players will have the ability to complete tasks in a variety of ways, similar to Deathloop and Dishonored. We know that in the Dishonored games, we had a variety of abilities and could approach missions from any perspective we chose.

And, of course, Blade has his vampiric powers, which will most likely provide us with the same abilities as in Dishonored. Where we can approach missions in a variety of ways, and you can actually see one of the official concept arts for the game that gives us a sense of what the world will look like and how the vibe will be in the game. We can even see Blade holding a handgun and, of course, his legendary blade.

While Marvel's Blade still doesn't have any official release date, when the game was unveiled at the Game Awards last year and had an internal release window of 2027, with 2027 being the earliest possible date. This implies that the game will take another 2 years of development.

There are also rumors that the next-gen Xbox, Xbox Prime, will be coming in 2026, implying that Redfall was Arkane Studios's final game and that their next game will be released on the next-generation system. Even if the next Xbox is delayed and released in 2027 or 2028, Marvel's Blade will still be released on the next-generation system.

Even though Marvel's Blade is being targeted for the next-gen Xbox, it'll definitely be a cross-gen game. With Xbox's new strategy of going down the multi-platform route, we will likely see Marvel's Blade being released on PlayStation 5 and, depending on how powerful Nintendo Switch 2 is, possibly on Switch 2 as well. So, we expect this Marvel's Blade to be released on all platforms.
