Modder Fixes Aliens: Colonial Marines Bad AI
Took some outside talent to fix notorious issue with Aliens: Colonial Marines

Aliens: Colonial Marines is one of Gearbox and SEGA's most infamous franchises. Heavily criticized for its story, graphics, and most importantly gameplay it was featured by many as one of the worst science-fiction games of the last generation. Now it would seem that the terrible AI Aliens: Colonial Marines was known for was caused by a simple typo a fan corrected.
You read right, 1 typo noticed and fixed by modder James Dickinson was discovered while diving into the ACM configuration file. A misspelled word for "teather" instead of "tether". This fixed improved the Xenomorphs overall AI and according to the modder, this minor adjustment to the original code “AttachXenoToTeather” properly fixes and “controls tactical position adjustment, patrolling and target zoning.”
This isn't the only example of modders adding in issues developments couldn't fix or overlooked. Dark Souls for the PC was awful at launch but fixed thanks to a mod called DSfix and was publicly acknowledged by publisher Bandai Namco.
