There's an overwhelming amount of gear to collect in Cyberpunk 2077, but some items are absolutely essential. Today, you're going to go through 10 must-have items that you need to find in Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Skippy, the Talking Gun

10. Skippy, the Talking Gun

This is one of the most ridiculous weapons you can find early in the game. Once you reach Act 2 and Night City fully opens up, Skippy becomes available. You'll find it in an alley in Vista Del Rey, marked by a question mark on your map in the southern area. Once you pick it up, a short conversation begins before you can use it.

Skippy has two firing modes: Puppy-Loving Pacifist, which targets enemy legs, and Stone Cold Killer, which exclusively lands headshots. You can choose the mode, but after 50 kills, Skippy will permanently switch to the opposite mode. To work around this, pick the mode you don't want so it switches to your preferred setting later.

Beyond its quirks, Skippy is a powerful and unique weapon, making it a fun and useful addition to your arsenal.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Johnny Silverhand's Gun

9. Johnny Silverhand's Gun

During Act 1, you briefly play as Johnny Silverhand in a flashback, wielding an extremely powerful pistol that explodes enemies' heads on impact.

You can acquire this gun in Act 3 during the Chippin' In side mission. This quest lets you help Johnny get revenge on his enemies, and during the mission, you'll encounter Grayson, who holds Johnny's gun—the Malorian Arms 3516.

Though it's not quite as powerful as when Johnny used it, it remains a legendary iconic weapon with an awesome reload animation. If you use pistols or just want to embrace Silverhand's style, this is a must-have weapon.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Caliburn Sports Car

8. Caliburn Sports Car

If you're looking for a fast and free sports car, this one is perfect. After completing the Ghost Town mission, return to where you helped Panam take down Nash. Near Rocky Ridge, in a tunnel past the shootout location, you'll find a shipping container with the Caliburn sports car inside.

This car is one of the fastest in the game, and normally, it would cost a fortune. Getting it for free makes it an essential addition to your collection. Plus, it contains a fun Batman Easter egg, referencing Mercman, with a note saying, "I became the man Night City didn't deserve."

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Mantis Blades

7. Mantis Blades

Mantis Blades are one of the most powerful cyberware melee weapons, typically costing around $45,000 and requiring Level 20 Street Cred to purchase. However, you can find a free set early in the game.

To get them, head to Corpo Plaza in the City Center and look for the Phantom of Night City Cyberpsycho encounters. If the enemy is too tough, you can sneak past and grab the Mantis Blades from a chest in a side alley.

These free legendary Mantis Blades are better than the ones you normally buy and do not require Street Cred; so you can use them immediately.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Widowmaker (Precision Rifle)

6. Widowmaker (Precision Rifle)

Widowmaker is an iconic tech precision rifle dropped by Nash during the Ghost Town mission.

You must make sure to pick it up after defeating him, as it's one of the best weapons in the game. This rifle charges for extra damage, deals bonus chemical damage, has a chance to poison enemies, and fires a spread of bullets like a shotgun.

While it's not ideal for long-range sniping, its high power and accuracy make it an excellent close-to-mid-range weapon. If you need something that hits hard and rarely misses, this is the gun to get.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Monowire

5. Monowire

Like Mantis Blades, Monowire is a highly expensive cyberware weapon that you can actually get for free. It's essentially a laser whip, powerful in combat, and incredibly satisfying to use.

You'll find it in Kabuki, Watson, inside a random garage. Open the doors and search for a container on the left wall—inside, you'll find a legendary Monowire.

Unlike the purchasable versions, this does not require Street Cred, allowing you to equip it immediately. It's another amazing freebie that saves you nearly $90,000 when combined with the Mantis Blades.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Lizzy (Iconic Pistol)

4. Lizzy (Iconic Pistol)

Lizzy is a powerful tech pistol available at the start of Act 2. It deals high thermal damage, can cause burn, and fires extra rounds per shot, making it incredibly strong for early-to-mid-game combat.

You'll find it in the basement of Lizzie's Bar, near where you first meet Judy. After completing Judy's first story mission, you can return at any time to pick it up.

Despite its pink, toy-like appearance, Lizzy is one of the strongest early-game weapons and remains viable if you upgrade it throughout the game.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Satori (Iconic Katana)

3. Satori (Iconic Katana)

Satori is a unique katana that you can easily miss. During the Heist mission, when T-Bug opens the balcony doors for your escape, ignore the exit and go upstairs instead.

On the helipad, defeat the guards and look inside the hovercar to find Satori.

This katana sacrifices base damage for insanely high critical damage, making it deadly in the right hands. If you focus on close-range combat, this weapon is worth getting.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Overwatch (Sniper Rifle)

2. Overwatch (Sniper Rifle)

Overwatch is an incredibly powerful sniper rifle with a night vision scope, a custom silencer, and a faster reload speed than most sniper rifles.

It's perfect for stealth combat, allowing you to clear entire enemy bases without being detected. If you're up against higher-level enemies, you can simply snipe from a distance, and they won't stand a chance.

To get Overwatch, complete Panam's questline until you reach the Riders on the Storm mission. After rescuing Saul, Panam gifts you the rifle.

Since it's easy to obtain and extremely effective, Overwatch is a must-have weapon.

Cyberpunk 2077, Guide, Must-Have Items, Johnny Silverhand's Full Outfit

1. Johnny Silverhand's Full Outfit

Johnny Silverhand's full outfit is essential if you want to fully embrace his style. To get the entire set, you need to track down each piece across different missions. His tank top is obtained automatically during the Tapeworm quest in the main story.

The Aviators and Samurai Jacket are both given to you in the Chippin' In mission. His pants can be found in a suitcase during the Psycho Fan side gig in The Glen, while his shoes are located in a locker during the Family Heirloom gig in Charter Hill.

Once you collect every piece, you unlock the Breathtaking achievement, a nod to Keanu Reeves' iconic E3 moment.
