Since its launch, the Nintendo Switch has been surpassing not only the Wii U but giving the PS4 and Xbox One a run for their money. The hybrid console has a strong selection of first-party titles like Super Mario Odyssey incredible third-party support and upcoming games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon Let's Go series to encourage players to either invest into a system or keep playing. During a financial results meeting, ending on September 30th, 2018 Nintendo confirmed that the Nintendo Switch sold 22.86 million units.
The classic NES and SNES classics are going just as well with 3.69 million units sold, although that number would've been higher if Nintendo didn't have trouble stocking the systems when they launched.
Two Nintendo Switch standout titles during the period were Mario Tennis Aces (2.16 million units sold) and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (1.67 million units), contributing to total software sales for the system of 42.13 million during that time.
Nintendo is doing very well and with rumors of a new Nintendo Switch console on the horizon, that number will surely rise.
