Plants Vs. Zombies Live Undead Action
News by Daavpuke on May 09, 2011
Those crazy guys at PopCap (and very friendly gals) always know how to make my day. Every time the post office expects me to pick up a bomb parcel a week later, I now peacefully can march over there. With Osama Bin Laden dead, I’ve never felt more at ease to receive dubious looking packages; which ironically would be the perfect time to send me anthrax.
The bomb parcel in question. Luckily, it's also labeled Popcap in the front.
As I’m hoping you don’t send me toxic substances (please), we can now get on to the goodies inside. Two small boxes and a letter were inside the envelope, with the boxes marked ‘action figure.’ It seems PopCap Games is promoting the release of their Plants Vs. Zombies Nintendo DS release in Europe with some live undead action! Now, we already reviewed the American version, but it’s still a nice reminder for us mainlander folks that the game is out on shelves since May 6.
I had to open the boxes meticulously to preserve the undead, but once out of their crypt, the plastic antiheroes shined bright (and also smelled heinous). The letter said that I might be interested in seeing how our zombie friends would look like outside of the game screen and I thought that was a grand idea.
So I took the conehead zombie and politically incorrect Chinese zombie on an excursion around my human box!
I had to start off with striking the fear of God into them. I'm pretty sure conehead is flipping me the bird though.
And so the adventure starts! Here's our zombies fraternizing with their Nintendo consorts; building a fort of NES cartridges. Don't mind the Xbox games, I need to put those somewhere.
Here, our ghastly ghouls are trying to look away from the awesomeness that is the Sega Master System and also my undead PS2. They find solace in those stray SNES cartridges I should really clean up some time.
We go further away from the comfort zone now as the two make their way to judge my fashion sense. I wear a lot of black, so I'm guessing the undead will be cool with darkness.
Before I knew it, those scoundrels took over my kitchen. Them damned souls didn't even do my dishes, they just built more forts.
And there was no stopping the fiendish duo as they crawled their way into my bathroom. Politically incorrect Chinese zombie showed the world he was unafraid, which I suppose is easy when you're already dead. In the meantime conehead was checking himself out; vain as he is.
Finally, I caught on to those awkward zombies and put an end to their journey the only way it seemed fitting: They're now resting on top of the rest of the local PopCap shrine. I swear, those guys gals send me so much incentives, I should move to Ireland one day. Then again, I was already planning to. Thanks, PopCap!
