Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Is A Sequel to Into the Nexus

Sony has a lot of heavy hitters launching with the PlayStation 5, one of them is a new Ratchet and Clank game. With Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart getting an extended demo during Gamescom's opening event and an expected release around the PS5's launch date.

The demo is about 10 minutes of new gameplay that expands on the demo shown months back. With Ratchet able to explore environments without any loading screens. Insomniac did confirm it'll release within the PS5's launch window, so not a launch title. Perhaps early 2021.

Surprisingly Insomniac revealed this is not part of the reboot but a sequel to Into the Nexus. Which was the final mainline entry that launched on the PS3. This is a bit strange considering the reboot launched to success but perhaps Insomniac wants 2 different timelines.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart launches this year for PS5.
