Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Sparks Heated Dispute

Gamers react negatively to the Star Wars Outlaws gameplay trailer, causing Ubisoft to fear.

Over the past few months, Ubisoft took several missteps, and to put it simply, those were terrible. Due to the dismal state of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws has lost some of its earlier craze. We knew Kay Vess, a somewhat replacement for Han Solo, but so far, nothing has caught our eye that seems even remotely interesting.

Furthermore, it merely lacks any noteworthy points to discuss. Since Assassin's Creed Shadows has just taken over the conversation, fewer people are bringing Star Wars Outlaws up. But that's until IGN published the recent footage of the game. The absurdity of Assassin's Creed Shadows allows us to laugh at it, at least. But there is no substance to what Star Wars Outlaws displayed, and that is all.

Ubisoft is releasing more and more footage as Star Wars Outlaws releases on August 30, 2024. They are also making excuses for the game's expectedly low performance, which they will initially proclaim as fantastic before eventually admitting it was bad. The development cost and the Star Wars license are astronomical, and we all know how corporations handle these kinds of things. However, there are specific parameters that a Star Wars AAA game must meet, and it makes little difference if it sells a few million copies. To create a genuine hit, you require significantly more than that. I am unsure of their next steps on this matter, but it is something they are surely thinking about. What happens next is up to the gamers.

Ubisoft addressed the concerns raised by players following their release of a sneak peek of gameplay footage for Star Wars Outlaws. There was a serious lack of enthusiasm among prospective players. As expected, the reactions were extremely negative, and they are in for some catastrophic time ahead. Many commenters have said categorically that they will not be buying or playing the game. It was amusing to see how IGN tried to cover this by saying "We've noticed this video isn't airing at optimal quality by default, please make sure to adjust your video settings to ensure the video has the proper fidelity."

This is a major problem for Ubisoft. The company saw an abrupt decrease towards the year's end, and this decline is evident when looking at the big picture over the past few months. They began to rise again in February when anticipation was high for both this and the release of Assassin's Creed; but, after the Assassin's Creed controversies began, they have dropped to their lowest point ever. While making so many mistakes, Assassin's Creed has managed to get all the attention.

Ubisoft even went so far as to apologize to Japanese players for giving the impression that the company didn't care about including Japanese history and culture in the game. Despite claiming to be concerned in that statement, it appears that no action is being taken to resolve the players' grievances. That being said, I don't think they would want to do that with these games at this point. They have invested too much time and money into it, in my opinion. Since they are currently aware that these will likely be losses, their strategy is to simply hope for the best as much as possible.

Nothing here suggests that Ubisoft is taking the initiative to correct their missteps; these are just poor justifications and marketing. Everything from the Star Wars: Outlaws's gameplay to the environment design to the narratives seems extremely poor and unpolished. In reality, they appear to be absent.

It appears that these things are driven by DEI agendas. From the company's backend, it is precisely what they are attempting to instill in their staff, rather than encouraging them to create high-quality video games. We all are aware that Ubisoft has been trying to symbolize the lowest point of the diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda in the gaming industry. It's insane how far they'll go for this strange woke ideology.

Ubisoft is one of the biggest names in the gaming business, not merely a name in the industry. Nothing seems to be going right for them, and that includes the terrible quadruple-A failure of Skull and Bones, except for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which was fantastic. It's puzzling that they would attempt to use weak arguments to defend a bad-looking game. They need to stop trying to please the wrong people and start developing games that gamers actually want to play.
