The Surge Gets The Wild West Treatment In Its Next Expansion

Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 have unveiled the second expansion for Action-RPG The Surge, arriving on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 2nd. Taking place in an abandoned Quality Assurance lab found in the very bowels of the CREO facility, The Good, The Bad And The Augmented will see players attempting to overcome the Wild West-themed test chambers of a certain Dr. Rischboter.

"Fight through the mad doctor’s training rooms and try modifying them yourself for increased rewards by combining up to 4 of the 16 insane modifiers available. At the end of each stage, fight against distinct Challengers, powerful opponents forged from the training scenarios who are equipped with 30 unique new equipment pieces – armors, weapons, and implants - that you can take for yourself!".

The expansion's teaser trailer gives us a glimpse of what to expect, at least thematically. In it, Warren walks up to a salloon only to find the entrance blocked by an ominous figure wielding an entire coffin as a weapon. An interesting weapon choice, to say the least. The previous DLC, A Walk In The Park, took Warren through an amusement park, leaving Adam impressed with its "violent and fun combat, detailed environments, and hordes of enemies to kill.". The Surge 2 is also in development and scheduled for a 2019 release.
