The Total War franchise has been around for a while now and began back in 2000, with a small title known as Shogun: Total War. Since then, the game has spawned over a dozen entries and has become one of the most successful franchises in the strategy genre. The games have also spanned across multiple settings and eras such as Ancient Rome, the European Middle Ages, the Napoleonic Wars just to name a few. And now with the latest entry adding Ancient Egypt into their already impressive roster.

Total War: Pharaoh will be arriving on digital platforms such as Steam and Epic Games Store later in October 2023. Players will also be able to pre-order the game and by doing so will gain access to a wide variety of pre-order exclusive content such as two cosmetic packs. These cosmetic packs are the Avatar of the Gods Cosmetic Pack and the Heart of the Shardana Cosmetic Pack. Players will also be able to participate in the Early Access Weekend, where they will be able to play the game early. When this will take place is currently unspecified.

Total War: Pharaoh will also see the return of the epic dynamic turn-based tactics battles seen in previous entries, but will also include dynamic changing weather which will affect how your armies fight and will cause certain events to occur such as fires bursting out in camps or giant sandstorms that happen in the middle of combat. Players will also be able to fully customize their campaigns and tweak the game to their liking, meaning no experience will be the same.

Total War: Pharaoh will also be the farthest back a Total War game has ever been set, beating Total War Saga: Troy, which was set in the titular city during the Trojan War. We will have to see if Pharaoh will live up to players expectations.
