Here’s everything you need to know on the two highest damage dealing builds in Remnant 2.

This guide will refer to the highest possible DPS builds in Remnant 2. We’ll go over two powerful setups that will maximize your damage output. One of these builds revolves around the bow, The Genesis, and takes full advantage of the Zero Hour amulet. With the right setup, you'll be dealing massive critical hits and tearing through enemies in seconds.
The Genesis Build
For this build, you’ll be running a Hunter/Gunslinger archetype, which is the strongest damage-focused combination available. The key to maximizing this build is staying in the lightweight category, which is possible thanks to the Strong Back trait. Your total weight will sit at 39.4, ensuring maximum mobility and the benefits of the Zero Hour amulet.
Your armor setup consists of the Phetyr Sensor, Nanoplated Vestments, Nightstalker Pants, and Phetyr Crushers. This combination not only looks great but also complements the build’s lightweight requirements. For rings, you’ll be using Akari War Band, Probability Cord, Archer’s Crest, and Braided Thorns.
The Genesis bow will be your primary weapon, equipped with Supercharger for increased weak spot damage and an additional 10% crit chance. When you factor in all your gear, including the amulet and rings, your critical chance reaches a staggering 90%. Almost every shot you fire will be a critical hit, making this setup one of the deadliest in the game.
Currently, The Genesis doesn’t scale properly, but once fixed, it will be even stronger. If you’re facing a boss with an easily accessible weak spot, consider swapping Braided Thorns for Zenith’s Malice to further increase your damage output.
Maximizing Damage with Zero Hour Amulet
The Zero Hour amulet plays a key role in this build, granting 20% increased damage and 10% additional crit chance as long as you remain lightweight. Unlike other amulets that require specific conditions to activate—like Abrasive Whetstone, which requires inflicting Bleed, or Nightweaver’s Grudge, which needs a status effect—Zero Hour provides a constant, passive bonus with no extra effort.
This makes it one of the best amulets in the game right now, especially if you're comfortable running lightweight armor. If you’re playing Boss Rush, you’ll often find temporary bonuses like +25% damage reduction or max HP regeneration, which can help compensate for any survivability concerns.
Traits, Melee Weapons, and Additional Gear
Your trait setup is crucial for survivability and mobility. You’ll want to focus on:
- Triage & Regrowth – For HP regeneration.
- Swiftness – To move quickly and stay agile.
- Fortify – Maximizing armor efficiency while staying lightweight.
- Strong Back – Ensuring you stay within the lightweight category.
- Untouchable – Increasing your evade window for better survivability.
- Vigor & Expertise – Providing extra health and reducing skill cooldowns.
- Fitness & Endurance – Increasing evade distance and stamina.
For your melee weapon, you’ll use Krell with Tainted Blade, which applies Corrosion to enemies. This debuff makes them take 10% more damage, further boosting your overall DPS. Additionally, Enigma with Extender is a great secondary weapon, capable of wiping out mobs with ease. You’ll want to use The Genesis bow for bosses and Enigma for clearing enemies while exploring.
Showcasing Damage Output
With this setup, your Genesis bow will deal over 11,000 damage per shot, and when you apply Corrosion, your damage output increases even further. Against certain bosses, you could break 12,000 DPS, making this build one of the strongest options available.
If you prefer a slightly different approach, you can experiment with alternative gear combinations, such as Worn Dog Tags, Nightweaver’s Grudge, and Abrasive Whetstone. However, this setup already delivers incredible results without requiring any additional activators.
Boss Fight Demonstration
When you enter Boss Rush, your strategy is simple—apply Corrosion, activate your skills, and unleash a storm of high-damage critical hits. You won’t even need to target weak spots too much, as the sheer power of this build is enough to delete bosses within seconds.
For example, against Sunken Witch, you’ll notice that her DPS phase doesn’t even last long because she’s constantly running away. If she didn’t move as much, you could likely one-cycle her without issue. Against Abomination, things are even easier—just pop your abilities before the fight, and the boss will melt almost instantly.
If you’re up against Mother Mind, the weak spot is extremely easy to hit, making this an ideal matchup for The Genesis bow. Even though the fight has multiple phases, you’ll transition through them in seconds due to your overwhelming damage output.
The Plasma Cutter Build – Even More DPS
If you’re looking for even higher DPS, you’ll want to try the Plasma Cutter build. This setup features the Thousand Cuts mod, which stacks up to 30% crit chance when fully charged. When combined with your rings, amulet, and archetypes, you’ll reach an incredible 95% crit chance—meaning almost every shot will be a critical hit.
The Plasma Cutter starts off slow but ramps up quickly. With full stacks, you’ll see DPS numbers exceeding 13,000 DPS, and if you activate Akari War Band, you could potentially reach 14,000 DPS. This build is best used in co-op play, as you’re more vulnerable than in the Genesis build, but the damage potential is unmatched.
Plasma Cutter Boss Rush Performance
With the Plasma Cutter, you’ll want to keep your fire focused on enemies to maximize damage. The best part about this build is that once the weapon gets going, it absolutely melts bosses. You can easily defeat enemies like Tal’Ratha in seconds, and even in Apocalypse difficulty, you’ll make short work of high-health bosses.
For mob clearing, you’ll use Nebula, which deals with enemies efficiently without needing charge-up time. This makes it the perfect complement to the Plasma Cutter, allowing you to handle both boss fights and enemy waves with ease.
Final Notes
Both of these builds represent the highest DPS options in Remnant 2. The Genesis build is perfect for those who want high crit chance and consistent damage, while the Plasma Cutter build is ideal for insane burst damage with a slight trade-off in survivability.
If you’re confident in your skills and want to obliterate bosses in seconds, these setups will give you everything you need. Try them out, experiment with gear combinations, and see which one fits your playstyle best.
