Undertale is arguably one of the most iconic indie titles of all times, since its release almost 8 years ago, the game is still fondly remembered by players to this day, the same can be said about its spiritual successor, Deltarune. It's been a while since we've heard anything about the next chapter for the game but it would seem that creator, Toby Fox, is actively developing the game's third chapter, the creator would then go on to say that the release of chapter 3 would also bring both Chapter 4 and Chapter 5.

To say news about Deltarune has been slow, is a bit of an understatement. However, Toby Fox did say this past July that the development for the game has been going smoothly, this put fans at ease who were starting to worry that the creator had moved onto other projects. Things seem to be going a little too smoothly as it looks like the next three chapters of the game would be released together. During the celebration for Undertale’s 8th anniversary, Toby Fox gave us some insight as to what we can expect.

According to the game's creator, the next chapter of Deltarune will be very similar to the Queen's Castle from the second chapter, except it will feature new mechanics that haven't been seen in both Undertale and Deltarune. If you want to stay up to date about all things Undertale and Deltarune, fans will be glad to know that you can sign up to Toby Fox's newsletter, which has documented the progress of the game, as well as many other topics.

In his most recent newsletter, Toby Fox stated that the third chapter of Deltarune is completed and can be played from beginning to end but still needed to be organized for general cohesion. In his own personal opinion, Toby Fox does feel that while playable, the chapter isn't finished but all the unfinished parts are becoming smaller and smaller. He also saw this as an opportunity to share some of the mechanics that were cut from the third chapter, including a stealth mechanic of all things. Luckily, Toby Fox quickly scrapped the idea as he felt that the mechanics were unnecessary.

Aside from all the news surrounding the next chapter of Deltarune, the newsletter is also a chance to get a small glimpse into Toby Fox's personal life, such as the most recent one where he goes into detail about meeting the creator of Touhou ZUN.
