According to a recent leak, it seems that we will see the return of Zombie Mode, a feature that we haven't seen since the release of 2021's Call of Duty Vanguard. This feature has been highly requested by many fans of the series, who felt that the last iteration of a similar mode was rather lackluster. This left many fans disappointed and wanting for a full-fledged Zombie Mode as seen in previous entries.

Alongside the possibility of there being a return of Zombie Mode, the leak also included information about when we can expect to see the reveal of the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise. Now with many supposed leaks, it is wise that you take them with a grain of salt, even more so with a series as popular as Call of Duty. However, it seems that the most recent leak comes from a more reliable source, meaning there may be some credibility to it.

According to Insider Gaming, it is believed that "Call of Duty 2023" will feature a new Zombie Mode. The Mode will be available upon the game's release, however, what this mode will include is still currently unknown but it will apparently deviate from what we've previously seen. According to the reports, the new Zombie Mode will no longer be round-based and will instead take on a much more different approach, we currently do not know what exactly that entails though.

If the leak is to be believed, the apparent inclusion of Zombie Mode comes as quite the surprise, considering that the next Call of Duty game is rumored to be a part of the Modern Warfare series, and is intended to be a sequel to last year's Modern Warfare 2. Another reason why this is so surprising is because the inclusion of zombies is typically found in the Black Ops games.

Despite the developer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward, having experience working with Zombie Mode as they included it in 2016's Modern Warfare, it was never included in the sequel due to the mixed reception it received. If they do decide to change their approach with handling Zombie Mode and the universe it is set in, we may see a version of Zombie Mode that will work with the modern Call of Duty games as well as keep long-time fans of the series happy.

However, this is all currently speculation as we will still have to wait and see if Zombie Mode will actually be returning, or if the leak is correct. According to said leak, the game will be shown off in August and hopefully by then we will know more about the title when it releases later this year.
