In Citizen Sleeper 2, survival care for your dice is key, for it reflects your effectiveness in taking action. With time, abuse and tension can destroy your dice, and when a die's health meter runs out, it shatters and must first be repaired in order to roll it again. In this article, I will elaborate on repairing broken dice with the use of the Rig Workshop and proper parts, including information regarding Glitch Dice and how to handle them.
Open Your Rig Workshop
To repair broken dice, first, access your Rig Workshop, and when your quest in the Far Spindle is completed, your workshop will become accessible. Once accessible, your workshop contains tools for putting your dice in working condition. To access it, go to your Rig, then choose Workshop, then choose Repair.
Repairing Dice with Scrap and Rare Parts
Dried-out dice can be repaired alone. To have them repaired, use Scrap Parts or Rare Parts. Scrap Parts will have one full die repaired, but with a high chance of glitches. With Rare Parts, one can be repaired but with fewer defects inserted. With both processes repairing a broken die, using high-value parts is preferable to have no nasty surprises.
Procuring Fixing Parts
To acquire Scrap and Scrap Components to repair dice, you will have to scavenge Scrapyards and Scrapper Ships in sectors. Some areas will have Scrap Components for purchase with Cryo, your in-game currency. Some jobs and contracts will pay out Scrap and even Rare Components, too. With a steady source of these materials, you can simply swap out busted dice when and if ever they bust.
Learning About Glitch Dice and Glitch Clock
Now, in your ventures deeper into the Far Spindle, you will run into Glitch Dice, and boy, are they not reliable at all. Glitch Clock, at the upper part of your screen and to the upper right of your Action Dice, keeps a count of your glitch level. As your meter accumulates, so will your odds of rolling Glitch Dice in your future cycle.
Some nasty consequences, deadly actions, and failures in a row could be piling up a larger Glitch Clock, your odds at rolling these unpredictable dice larger.
How to Deal with Glitch Dice
Glitch Dice are exceedingly high-risk, with an 80% chance of a negative reward and thus a liability in most cases. There is a method, however, to negate them, though. With each Glitch Die, your Glitch Clock will drop, lowering your opportunity of rolling them again in future cycles. As much as it is best not to obtain them in the first place, rolling them at a timed opportunity will serve to drop your Glitch Clock.
Finally…
Maintaining your healthy dice is critical to survival in Citizen Sleeper 2. Check your state of dice at all times and have them repaired at one time when they break down. Hoard Scrap and Rare Components for use in repairing your dice when you most desperately require them.
In addition, pay attention to your Glitch Clock and avoid putting yourself in unnecessary danger that can increase your chance of rolling Glitch dice. With proper maintenance, your reliable dice can allow you to effectively accomplish chores and survive in a hostile reality in the game.
