Contracts in Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector play an important role in that they allow access to new stories, beneficial crew, and significant parts, in addition to being a source of Cryo. To access a contract, a player must explore a range of locations in a Hub and undertake various actions to unveil new characters and narrative prompts.
Some can be purchased via Contract Boards for a small price in Cryo. After buying, following a contract can be achieved through the use of a Map, with active locations lit up. Before, however, a player must make sure that enough fuel and provisions have been acquired in order to make a successful return.
Fuel and Supplies: Contract Fulfillment
Traveling and staying in a location for a contract use fuel and provisions. Travel takes fuel, with the amount changing with the distance traveled. After the successful fulfillment of a contract, no fuel will then be consumed when returning. Supplies allow a player to stay in a location for numerous cycles.
Action Dice runs out in a location for a contract, and then you must wrap up at The Rig, one unit per cycle for Supplies. With insufficient provisions, a player must leave early and not follow through with objectives. Supplies and fuel can both be purchased with Cryo at a Trade Hall in any Hub and as such, their management is important to the successful fulfillment of a contract.
Fulfilling a Contract: How to Maneuver Stress and Cycle Clocks
When you enter a Contract Location, the location will act similarly to a Hub, with locations with jobs in an effort to enable you to accomplish objectives for a Contract. Contracts, nevertheless, present new complications regarding Cycle Clocks and Derelict Stress. Derelict Stress builds when poor events occur during a Contract activity.
In case your Stress bar reaches its full value, a failure in a Contract can occur; several of them even have Crisis Points, with destructive events at a specific duration of Stress. Cycle Clocks, nevertheless, present a time restriction for objectives through a countdown to a specific occasion happening. In case a timer runs out and you cannot accomplish a Contract, failure is a reality.
To evade such danger, you must exercise care when taking action in a Contract location. Exiting a Contract location will reduce your stress level by -5, but you cannot re-enter; therefore, all objectives must first be accomplished.
All Contract Locations and Incentives
Contracts can be scattered in many locations, and each location will have its respective challenges and incentives. Some reward with Cryo or useful parts, and others free strong crew members. Here is a cleaner and easier-to-access review of all Contract locations and incentives.
Hexport Contracts
Hexport currently has two contracts from which you can choose. 10 Cryo Contract at Contract Board and 2 Fuel, for a reward of 200 Cryo, is represented by the Conway Signal Contract. On the other hand, 3 Fuel will reward you with a Data Core for accomplishing the Solheim Contract.
Far Spindle Contracts
Far Spindle contains two options for a contract. One for the Hidden Wreck will require 2 Fuel and Yu-Jin, along with Rare Components. The secondary one, Ice Rich Asteroid, can be accessed when completing the Springtides Goal and will require 3 Fuel, with a reward of 250 Cryo.
Flotsam Contracts
Flotsam contains a contract for completing one for Stranded Rig in The Narrow Escape and will require 8 Cryo and 2 Fuel, with Scrap and Components for a reward. A significant one in Flotsam is Cutter's End, with a request to complete one at Drive at Wellspring and 4 Fuel. Completing Cutter's End will allow Nia or Femi to be recruited and become the crew.
Helion Gate Contracts
Helion Gate contains two options for a contract. Shipmind Wreck, in Solheim Records, will require 4 Fuel and Juni and reward a Prime Shipmind for use. The Wind's Long Shadow contains a significant assignment, with a request for a conversation with Aki and 4 Fuel for a price. For a reward, 100 Cryo will be rewarded for each Stepilk gained, and this raises trust with Aki.
Holm’s Rock Contracts
Holm's Rock will have a Solheim Bunker and require 3 Fuel and Juni, with a reward for Components and Data.
Wellspring Contracts
The two in Wellspring have high reward values. Headstream, with a request for having player characters work for Kirk and 3 Fuel, will reward a Free Tala and an achievement. The one for Debris Field will require negotiations with Lotics and 3 Fuel, and for a reward, it will allow unlocking of Free Tala.
The Scatteryards Contracts
For a journey to The Scatteryards, Darkside Recon will become accessible following a wait for Marko and Serafin and 3 Fuel for a price. Completing Darkside Recon will reward you with embarrassing information about Ankhita.
The Hollow Contracts
At The Hollow, you can take on the Aphelion Beacon contract, which costs 6 Fuel and Yu-Jin with no reward stated.
Olivera Contracts
In Olivera, the Old Manufactory contract is about rescuing Flint and Karman for 2 Fuel, and in reward, a key narrative reward: halting the Hunter in its tracks in terms of pursuing Flint.
Darkside Contracts
Finally, Darkside has the Hexport Remains contract. That one costs Kadet (after she has completed all of her Hexport Drive objectives) and 5 Fuel and doesn't reward a particular prize.
Tips for Contract Efficiency
To get the most use out of your contracts, you must stock up beforehand on fuel and supplies in case you don't make it out. Knowledge of Derelict Stress and Cycle Clocks can save you unnecessary failure and wasted fuel.
Prioritize high-Cryo payouts and critical crew-unlocking contracts for long-term rewards. Completing relevant objectives early can even reward you with additional contract opportunities and an easier overall experience.
