Everwind Guide | How to Find and Use the Refinery
Here's a simple guide on how to find craft and use the Refinery
Game Guide by Subaiyta Jahan on Mar 29, 2026
In this guide, you will learn how to locate a Refinery, unlock its recipe, craft it, and use it effectively. You will also understand where to search for one and how it interacts with different resources. This will help you gather materials and improve your resource processing.
Finding a Refinery
You need to search within Rotten Biomes to locate a Refinery. These areas often contain patches of Fuel Soaked Dirt, which is a key indicator that you are in the right place.
When exploring, you should focus on smaller side structures rather than large buildings. A Refinery is usually found in small, isolated structures instead of main landmarks. As you move through these biomes, you may come across several possible locations, so you should check each structure carefully.

You may encounter enemies such as Steamers or explosive creatures while searching. You should clear the area before interacting with any structures.
Unlocking the Recipe
Once you find a destroyed Refinery, you should not break it immediately. If you destroy it using a pickaxe, you will not unlock the recipe.
Instead, you must equip your Compass and activate it. When used, the compass will scan the structure and unlock the Refinery Recipe. After the scan is complete, you can break the structure to collect materials such as scrap and other components. You may also find a Chest nearby containing additional items.

Crafting a Refinery
After unlocking the recipe, you can craft a Refinery using a standard crafting station. The required materials are accessible, with Iron being one of the more difficult resources to obtain.
You will also need Reinforced Pipes, which can be found scattered throughout Rotten Biomes. Since these materials are commonly available, you can gather enough resources to craft multiple refineries. You should consider building more than one to improve efficiency.

Placing and Powering the Refinery
When placing a Refinery, pay attention to its direction. The front side has a connector that must be aligned correctly for power connections.
To operate the refinery, you must connect it to a Power Generator. You can place the generator nearby, but you need to ensure that it is properly connected. If the connection is incorrect, the refinery will not receive power.
Once connected, you can interact with the refinery and start the process. If the start option does not activate, it means the power connection is not set correctly.

Using the Refinery on Fuel-Soaked Dirt
You can use the Refinery to extract resources from Fuel Soaked Dirt. When placed within range, the refinery will detect available material and begin processing once activated.
The refinery requires fuel to operate. You must add a fuel source before starting the process. Once active, it will extract liquid resources from the surrounding area.
Understanding the Tank System
Each Refinery has a storage tank with a capacity of 30 units. As the refinery processes materials, the tank will gradually fill.
When the tank reaches its limit, the refinery will stop automatically. You must monitor the tank and restart the process if more resources are available. If there is no material left within range, the refinery will not continue.

Refinery Range and Placement Strategy
The Refinery operates within a limited range of approximately three blocks in each direction. It can extract resources from the nearby ground within this area.
However, its vertical range is limited. It may not reach materials located above or below certain levels. Because of this, you may need to reposition the refinery to collect all available resources.
You can move the refinery or adjust its placement to reach areas you missed. Carrying extra connection materials, such as pipes, will help you reposition them more easily.
Extracting Magic Liquid
In addition to fuel, the Refinery can extract Magic Liquid from the ground. This is visible as a green substance within certain areas, especially in Jungle Biomes.
Even small patches can produce Magic Liquid when processed. You can identify these areas visually before placing the refinery.

This resource is useful for potion crafting. By using the refinery, you can collect larger amounts of Magic Liquid, making it easier to produce potions consistently.
Resource Value and Usage
Fuel extracted through the refinery burns for a long duration per unit, making it an efficient energy source. At the same time, the ability to gather Magic Liquid allows you to support alchemy without relying on limited supplies.
By combining both functions, the Refinery becomes an important tool for resource management. You should use it regularly in both Rotten Biomes and Jungle Biomes to maximize your material collection.
