Since the last update, InZOI has added some nice new gameplay features, which add depth and realism to the experience, from services and careers to social interactions, events, relationships, and consequences.
As you dive into the game, you'll discover even more details and possibilities within this evolving life simulation game. Here are 10 new gameplay features that I found interesting.
Pocket Market Services
The first InZOI gameplay feature you'll want to explore is the addition of services. When you head to your smartphone, you'll see the P Market (Pocket Market) at the bottom. Upon loading it up, you'll find food items for ordering full meals, ingredients, coffee, and household services.
You can hire babysitters, cleaners, and repairmen, usually with two different options: a cheaper basic service or a more extensive premium one. After ordering, they'll arrive at your home within minutes, prompting a pop-up where you can either greet them at the door or pretend not to hear and ignore them. Ignoring visitors might negatively affect your karma.
Regarding broken objects, appliances like fridges, ovens, TVs, and radios can break in InZOI. You'll want to be very careful with repairs because malfunctioning appliances can actually kill your Zoy.
You could die while trying to fix things if you don't know how to do it right. The Pocket app's fix service is very important because things break down all the time, and TVs and fridges are especially likely to break down.
Flexible Career Opportunity
You can now pursue various professions, including working at the fire station, Adam Entertainment, Aramir Group (business), Ustitia law firm as an attorney, The Mirror of the Era as a journalist, University Professor, Military Service Officer, DW Soft developer, DG E-Sports gamer, rescue team member at Doweon All Resolved, or take part-time jobs at Dowon Deli or the convenience store.
A useful new feature lets you adjust your working hours. When you join a job and check your schedule, you can use sliders to make your working day shorter or longer. Just be aware that reducing your hours too much might prevent promotions, but it's perfect if you feel work is taking too much of your time.
Social Menu Between Zoys
The social interactions between Zoys have been improved with a clearer, categorized menu system. When you approach strangers, you'll see conversation options organized intuitively, making social interactions less stressful and more logical.
You'll notice little keys next to some options, indicating information about the other Zoys that you still need to unlock, such as career preferences, marriage status, personality traits, and outlook on life. You shouldn't rush into asking these key questions immediately, as Zoys may become standoffish if you're too hasty with personal inquiries.
Asking deeper questions and having relaxed conversations can help you get to know someone better and learn more about them over time. This makes it easier for your social relationships to grow.
Solo Interactions: Engaging in Personal Experiences
You now have many fun solo interactions available just by clicking on your Zoy. You can change your clothes on the spot, switching between summer, winter, and formal attire, or create entirely new outfits in the Create a Zoy menu.
Under personal actions, you can show off your outfit, which interestingly starts rumors among other Zoys who witness your display. You can look for directions if you're lost, spray mosquito repellent, ask for help by screaming and flailing your arms, or report emergencies by calling on your smartphone.
Depending on your karma level, the smartphone gives you more choices, like posting positive or negative things about other people on the social app Bubbly, turning on your flashlight, or taking pictures from Zoy's point of view. These little touches make the game feel more real and immerse you in it.
Types of Filters
A brief overview of different kinds of filters used in various applications, including their functionality and significance.
Filters allow you to change the visual style of the game completely. You can play with the normal realistic look or choose from several options: lovely effect with brighter colors, cartoon effect with outlines and cooler colors, black and white, cartoon miniature style, fisheye lens, retro, or thriller.
The retro, cartoon, lovely, and thriller effects are the ones that change things the most. With the thriller filter, for example, the mood changes a lot, making you feel like you're in a sci-fi movie instead of a life simulation. For those who don't like how realistic InZOI is, these filters are great options that let you change how you see things.
Events and Activities
While the event system may initially feel limited, you can make gatherings more dynamic with some creativity. You can host a general party, name it, choose a date, time, and location, then invite guests and set a dress code.
The action settings are where you can get creative. For a housewarming party, you might set your Zoys to clean and help around the house while prohibiting actions like sleeping. You could organize a gaming party and have everyone play video games together. The build catalog includes event objects like disco balls and balloons to set the scene.
The scripted action choice is helpful because it lets you press play and let the party happen on its own. All of the Zoys will do the actions you choose at the same time, like singing or dancing. This makes sure that everyone does what they're supposed to, but it might not feel completely normal, which means that the events system could use some work.
Relationship Proposals
The proposal and marriage system has been refined. When two Zoys build a strong relationship, you'll get the option to propose marriage. If accepted, you'll become engaged, though you'll notice there are no cutscenes as in previous versions—you'll simply get a pop-up notification before returning to gameplay.
You can "set the mood" for a romantic date in front of a bed. As your Zoys get closer to the bed, a red heart will show up. After about a minute, they'll be done and walk around both sides of the bed while doing a cute little happy dance.
Wedding Planning Essentials
Once engaged, you can plan a wedding through the schedule menu. You'll name your event, set a duration and location (currently limited to one venue), invite guests, choose a dress code, and specify recommended and prohibited actions.
If you want, you can dress your Zoy in wedding attire by changing your party outfit to a wedding dress. The wedding venue is beautifully decorated, with different areas, including the aisle, a photo spot, and seating for the banquet.
When guests arrive in formal wear, you can use the scripted actions feature to watch the ceremony unfold automatically—your Zoy will walk down the aisle, speeches will be given, and rings will be exchanged in sequence. You can also take control of individual actions if preferred.
Remember to use the photo booth at the back for cute wedding photos, and you can change the time of day for different lighting effects. After the wedding, you'll get a congratulations pop-up and can merge households, choose to live at your existing property or find a new house, and decide how to divide assets and merge funds.
Divorce: Navigating the Emotional and Legal Journey
In InZOI, you can now get a divorce if your marriage goes through rough spots. You can act badly toward your partner by setting fire to their clothes, fighting, punching, yelling, making fun of them, or teasing them. The "get a divorce" choice will show up at some point.
Your spouse might say no at first to the divorce, but if you keep at it, you'll finally split up. The simple message "got divorced" will show up, and your Zoys will go their different ways.
Impact of Jail
The final new feature adds consequences for criminal behavior. If your Zoy starts trouble by throwing punches, heckling, threatening, or slapping others, especially near police officers or stations, they may get arrested.
If you get jailed, you'll be locked in a small room with a bed, a toilet, and a drink machine. Your time is up, and you have to serve it. This usually takes about 24 hours. When you're done, you'll get a message saying "released from jail" at 9 AM the next day.
This gives bad behavior real-world consequences, making the game more realistic and opening up more story options. Perhaps there's even a way to break out of jail, waiting to be discovered when you get your hands on the early access release.
