Jinx Sales, Steam Wallet and More
Other by Deliduck on Oct 01, 2010
Ok, I have written far too many blogs in the past little while. But here goes another one. Has anyone here ever heard of a site called JINX? They sell some pretty cool clothing and swag in general. Usually, I don't really purchase from them as their stuff is a bit beyond my comfortable price range for clothing...but right now, they are having a $7 off on all t-shirt sales, so I splurged as I needed clothing anyway and bought about 6 or 8 shirts. The sale only lasts for a few more days, so take a look. You may find something you love!
Second, the new Steam Wallet thing is mentioned. From what I understand, it's like a pay-for-steam bucks type thing, which you can use for whatever. Games, in-game items, etc. In-game items, you say? Well yes! I noticed yesterday that there is a TF2 store where you can purchase items for the game—unique hats, etc. While I have seen this in other games I have played, I was I admit a little disappointed to see it come to Steam.
With a system like this, players who may have more money than others can get better items, making their dudes stronger. But nothing can substitute for being an all-around fantastic player! ;D It also instituted a trading system where players can trade items they have with other TF2 players for items they want more. I like this idea far more than paying for item one, but hey, take the good with the bad, right?
However, with a trading system now installed, it brings the annoying "hey does anyone have a this and this type item to trade me?" messages in gameplay chat. Again, I gotta remember to try and take the good with the bad, but sometimes, these messages get beyond annoying when you just want to play.
Hell, let's throw in a third here, and I will talk about my classes lately. I have been overwhelmed with the amount of reading each class is throwing at me. Article upon article upon article and chapter upon chapter of reading for just one class this week has left me a little . I think I spend about 5- 8 hours each day just reading and reviewing information. Though I guess that's a bit on the low side, actually, considering I don't physically go to classes.
One of the classes I originally thought would be the easiest has left me a little flustered, and the other one I thought would be the hardest has left me going...this is easy! I have some bigger quizzes coming up, as well as book reviews, essays, and more assignments! It's all very overwhelming when it's your first semester.
I am also attempting to think about planning my next semester. (assuming I have the money for it) Because I have to do online classes, I am limited in my choices and will unfortunately not be able to take any more anthropology courses next term. (unless they add new ones) I am hopefully going to take the philosophy course I couldn't get into this term and perhaps will take psychology, criminology, and art history. By this time next year, If I keep on taking courses, I will be able to enter into a bachelor's program, and I am excited to think of the prospect of actually earning a degree.
So that's about it for the moment. Perhaps next blog if I get to some demos and such I will have more videos.
Cheers!
