In the world of Layers of Fear, the Actor's Story has five Strange Objects that are buried deep in his memories. These things look strange and make scary noises when you touch them.

If you learn how to use the Strange Note and find all of them, you can read secret messages that show some of the scariest parts of the story.

Finding the Hidden Objects

During the second chapter, you will escape the Formless Monster by crawling through a vent. When you come out, move the Mannequin to the left to open a door behind you. Inside, hit a button to cut the power and quickly run down the hall, crawling under a wheel, to find the Strange Box.

Later in that same chapter, you will crawl through another vent that splits in two. Take the Left Path to find a bedroom where the Strange Note sits on the bed. This is the most important item to find.

In the third chapter, you will enter a Hedge Maze. Before you leave the first section, look for a large Tree Trunk with sixteen holes. You must interact with the holes to make them all open at once, which reveals a flame. When you succeed, the Strange Cube will appear on a nearby bench.

During the fourth chapter, you will find a room with a portrait of the Rat Queen. Look at the Cards on the table to find a code for the locked trunk in that room. Open it to get the Strange Tree. Near the end of that chapter, you will find a shrine.

Open the box behind the Altar, then look through the small Keyhole at the base. In the secret room, move the Spotlights so they all shine on the statue to earn the Strange Eyes.

Decoding the Secrets

Once you have these items, they will appear on the shelves in your Cabin. To hear their secrets, you must use the hint found on the Strange Note, which has the code 42S written on it. Go to your Telescope and look through it for forty-two seconds. A Shell will appear in the water; zoom in on it to collect it.

You will find this Shell on the floor of your cabin near the notes. You can pick it up and place it on the pedestal of any Strange Object. When the shell is attached, holding the object will play a hidden message instead of just static. You can move the shell between the different items whenever you want to hear a new secret.
