S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a sequel that carries the legacy of the previous games and goes a notch higher than what an open-world survival game can offer. It was developed in extremes, as it is a work of art and a shield of GSC Game World. In this guide, we’ll go through how you can get the Weird Ball Artifact.
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the first major settlement you’ll encounter is Zelissya. To the east lies an anomaly called Bulba, which behaves like a "breathing" blackhole of a sort. It alternates between exhaling and inhaling, pulling everything toward its center during the latter phase. Getting caught at its core is fatal.
Beneath the Bulba Anomaly, however, lies a valuable artifact. To obtain it, you’ll need to use the environment to your advantage. The area is filled with obstacles like trucks, large rocks, and vans that can serve as cover. Wait for Bulba’s inhalation phase to end, then move closer, using the terrain to shield yourself. Patience and precision are key.
Escaping with the artifact requires ample stamina. Use the same approach as before: time your sprints carefully and keep obstacles between you and Bulba. If the Anomaly starts to pull you in, resist its force by sprinting and staying behind cover. As long as you persist, you’ll make it out safely.
The artifact you’ll retrieve is known as Weird Ball. Often mentioned in hushed conversations around campfires, it looks like a child’s ball but has a surprising weight. When equipped, Weird Ball reduces bullet damage, especially when you remain stationary. This makes it an invaluable item for defensive strategies during combat.
With careful planning and execution, you can successfully claim the artifact hidden beneath the Bulba anomaly in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
