Here’s how you can easily level up Golden Hoarders in Sea of Thieves.
Game Guide by Ornstein on Aug 05, 2025
This guide presents the fastest and easiest method to level up your Gold Hoarders' reputation as of the latest update in Sea of Thieves.
This guide shows you step-by-step how to quickly and easily become a Grade Five Emissary, whether you are new to the seas or want to speed up your progress as an Emissary.
Raising the Emissary Flag

As soon as you spawn into the game, raise the Gold Hoarder Emissary flag. If this feature is locked, you must first reach Level 15 with the Gold Hoarders.
Once unlocked, vote on your ship to dive into an Emissary quest and begin your journey toward Grade Five.
Choosing the Right Voyages
You have two main voyage options for rapid Emissary progression: standard Gold Hoarders voyages and Raid Voyages.
Raid Voyages allow you to challenge either the Burning Blades Armada—facing waves of ghostly ships—or duel an Ashen Lord.
You can speed up your Emissary grade in two different ways, and each has its benefits.
Maximizing Emissary Grade with the Ghost Fleet

When engaging the Burning Blades Armada, prioritize eliminating all sub-boss ships before confronting Flameheart.
Regular ghost ships succumb to three cannonballs, fire bombs, or blunderbombs, while sub-bosses require ten shots, and the Flameheart flagship requires twenty.
Red sails identify the final boss. Although this event may take longer, it yields superior Emissary-grade rewards more quickly.
Alternative: Ashen Lord Events and Quick Loots
If you choose to fight Ashen Lords, you will need to finish a lot of events to get to Grade Five. To speed up this process, look around the first island you see when you spawn for Skeleton Captains and Message in a Bottle tasks.
These activities often give you good Gold Hoarder loot and let you quickly cycle through events that raise your Emissary level in shorter amounts of time.
Utilizing Shipwrecks and Environmental Loot

When you're at sea, watch out for birds that are circling—they often mean that a shipwreck is close. These places can have fabulous Gold Hoarder treasure, sometimes even better than regular journey rewards.
To keep your Emissary rank, don't lower your flag between dives. Instead, sell the loot you've gathered only after each run.
Claiming the Grade Five Emissary Voyage
Upon reaching Grade Five Emissary status, sell all existing treasure and return to your quest table. Select Gold Hoarders and choose the Ashen Pirates Treasure Map voyage.
Claim this Emissary Voyage at Morrow's Peak by locating the Gold Hoarder tent on Devil's Roar. Failure to claim here will turn off the method’s effectiveness.
Efficient Treasure Digging for Reputation

This Emissary Voyage gives you several prize maps for islands close to Morrow's Peak. When you finish all of your digs, you'll find new Gold Hoarder and Ashen-variant chests and earn a lot of fame.
You should sell the items you found in each chest and lower your Emissary flag when you get back to Morrow's Peak. Repeat this method throughout your session to maximize gains in Gold Hoarder reputation.
