Whether you want games with engaging combat, games you can bond over with your friends, or just games with fascinating worlds to explore, there's definitely something that will spark your interest.

Here is the list of the top 10 exciting games releasing in May 2025, and hopefully, they'll all run nicely on the Steam Deck. Then, let's dive right into it!

1. The Midnight Walk

Starting off with The Midnight Walk, a dark fantasy game where you journey through a haunting world with the help of a lantern creature that provides you with light and guidance. Along the way, you will witness both magnificent and terrifying things, encountering odd creatures and monsters.

If you're easily scared by horror games, this might not be for you. But if you love the adrenaline rush of not knowing what lurks around the next corner, The Midnight Walk looks like it will deliver a chilling experience.

The game offers both a VR mode and a regular non-VR mode, so the normal mode will run on the Deck without any issues. The Midnight Walk will be released on May 8th.

2. Elden Ring Nightreign

Now, let's move on to one of the big ones: Elden Ring Nightreign, which will be released on May 29th.

This standalone title is set in the Elden Ring universe. While it supports single-player, the major highlight is its three-player co-op, where you and your friends must survive the dangers of this dark world.

For the Steam Deck performance, Elden Ring Nightreign is quite hopeful. Since the original Elden Ring runs well on the Deck (and is one of the most played games), it would honestly be shocking if Nightreign didn't run decently, too.

Even if the launch is rough, the developers will work to optimize it. Then, Elden Ring Nightreign will drop on May 29th.

3. Capcom Fighting Collection 2

Coming up next is Capcom Fighting Collection 2, releasing on May 15th.

This collection brings together legendary Capcom fighting games like Project Justice, Power Stone 1 and 2, and more. It also has some great beginner-friendly features, like the ability to save and load almost anywhere and adjustable difficulty levels.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is already marked as Verified for the Deck, which is awesome. Since these are older games, they shouldn't be very demanding.

It will be a treasure for those who have always wanted to play Power Stone 1 and 2 but missed out during their childhood because they couldn't find affordable copies in good condition. To be able to try them finally, and on the go, is a blessing.

Again, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 releases on May 15th.

Lost Soul Aside, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

4. Lost Soul Aside

After the first reveal back in 2016, Lost Soul Aside is finally arriving after nine long years! In Lost Soul Aside, you'll embark on a mission to save your little sister and defend humanity from an invasion from another dimension.

The world looks beautiful and expansive, filled with interesting bosses and rich lore—which, for gaming nerds, is absolutely lovable. It's really exciting to explore the story, the characters, the setting, and all the deeper world-building.

On paper, Steam Deck compatibility doesn't look too demanding, so there's a good chance it'll run well. But, of course, we will have to wait and see. Lost Soul Aside is releasing on May 30th.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

5. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny

Next in line is Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, releasing on May 22nd.

This is a remake of the classic Onimusha 2 from 2002. You'll step into the shoes of Jubei Yagyu and experience a story set in feudal Japan filled with vengeance and action.

The first Onimusha game was very popular in the past. For players who never got to play Onimusha 2, this re-release feels like the perfect opportunity to experience it.

It's already labeled as Verified for Steam Deck, so it should run decently. Again, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny releases on May 22nd.

Creature Keeper, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

6. Creature Keeper

Following that is Creature Keeper, which will also be released on May 8th.

In Creature Keeper, you form a team of diverse creatures who fight alongside you. The game gives off a wonderful retro vibe that reminds us of old-school games.

You can customize your creatures with skill gems, weapons, and cosmetic hats to add your own personal flair.

When it comes to Steam Deck compatibility, in honesty, there's no reason why it wouldn't run well. Retro-style games are typically no problem at all for the Deck as they don't require heavy graphics power.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

7. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered

Right after that is Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered, coming on May 21st.

This remaster lets you engage in thrilling battles, complete various missions, and customize and upgrade your Mobile Suits. It's also the first time the game is getting an official English localization, which is super exciting.

The game is rated as Playable on Steam Deck, and given how well anime-based games usually perform on the Deck, it has all the high hopes that this one will run smoothly as well.

Once again, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered lands on May 21st.

Sonic Rumble, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

8. Sonic Rumble

Next up is Sonic Rumble, a party Sonic game featuring various game modes packed with fun, light-hearted mini-games for you and your friends to enjoy, another game releasing on May 8th.

You can choose from iconic Sonic characters like Tails, Amy, and Shadow, and form teams to compete against others worldwide.

It looks like a fun game, even for friends who aren't hardcore gamers—pure laughter and casual enjoyment.

When I played Sonic Shuffle back in the day, I always felt Mario Party did a better job in that era. While it's not quite the same, Sonic Rumble is genuinely intriguing, especially for people who enjoyed Fall Guys.

As far as Steam Deck compatibility goes, Sonic Rumble is already marked as Verified, which isn't surprising considering almost all Sonic games tend to run great on the Deck.

Out of Sight, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

9. Out of Sight

Next is Out of Sight, a deep horror game coming on May 22nd.

In this unique horror experience, you play Sophie, a young blind girl who sees the world through the eyes of her teddy bear. You'll need to help her escape the mansion where she's been kidnapped, all while uncovering its horrifying secrets.

Out of Sight has already been verified for the Steam Deck. Though I haven't personally played the demo yet, the game doesn't look very demanding graphically, so I'm optimistic about it running smoothly.

Again, Out of Sight is set for May 22nd.

Empyreal, Top 10 Games Releasing In May 2025 On Steam Deck, PC, Screenshot, NoobFeed

10. Empyreal

Lastly, let's talk about Empyreal, which is going to be released on May 8th as well.

Blending RPG elements with skill-based combat, this game will let you select from three weapon archetypes: the glaive, the mace and shield, and the cannon. Depending on which archetype you choose, you will experience a different playstyle with unique core move sets.

It's essential when playing Empyreal to time your attacks, parries, and abilities well — mastering these will be key to surviving and succeeding. You can earn abilities in various ways: some you'll discover as you progress, while others, which are stronger, are locked behind specific quests.

Empyreal will run on Steam Deck, and there's a demo available right now on Steam. Based on players' experience with the demo, it maintained around 40+ FPS, with occasional dips into the mid-to-high 30s FPS. No noticeable lag or choppiness was seen, but there's definitely room for better optimization.

Hopefully, when Empyreal officially releases, it'll be even smoother on the Deck. Once again, Empyreal is set to release on May 8th.
