Game Guide by Groot on  Apr 18, 2026

It can be tough to begin your adventure in Windrose as you are thrown onto a beach with a broken blade and no assistance. You are a pirate in a world where survival is paramount, and the primary narrative is a lengthy one. This guide describes how this game works, bypassing certain mechanics to enable you to focus on sailing rather than getting stuck.

You will know how to choose the correct settings, locate what you need to survive and create a base that really works.

Difficulty and Resources Selection

Upon entering a new world, you have to select a level of difficulty that cannot be adjusted in the future. To play Calm Waters the case of new players is available, whereas the normal way to play is High Seas. The Storm's Edge is far more difficult, and the Captain's Choice allows you to customize all the settings. After landing on the beach, remain there to get materials. Chop Shipwreck Debris, Nails, and hit seaweed, Plant Fiber.

On the ground you can find Stone, and Clay by riverbanks. When you kill boars, you will have Rough Hide. The trick to use is to strike one tree to roll into another in order to save time. You may open Scallop Shells to get Pearls, too, that are a bullet should you run out of Gunpowder.

Developing a Foundation and Resting Easy

Your base has a color system to indicate whether you have sufficient materials. When green, you are okay but when red, you have depleted and the work will cease. A primitive camp will require a Bonfire, Workbench, Cooking Fire, and a Tent. You must build walls and a roof about the Armor Workshop in order to make it work.

When you are within a dungeon, simply make a small camp with a Bonfire and Tent. When you die you lose no strides on enemy health, and you need merely run back. To maintain the fast speed of your Stamina you can construct one item of every kind of decoration in your main base to achieve a Rested buff. You can also obtain this buff by using Firecamps on the way out on a trip.

Fighting Enemies and Using Stamina

Fighting in this game concerns moving but not blocking. You should hit an enemy once or twice and then back away. Attack heavily when they are walking to you, and continue to move at all times. Keep an eye on your Stamina wheel and do not allow it to run dry. When it becomes red, it will require a long time before it returns.

You can escape with the Dash move, which wastes energy. When you block an attack, you empty the enemy Poise Shield. This will stumble man or strike down animals. When hit, retaliate immediately to heal Revenge and restore some health. Avoid Level 3 Sows initially as they are highly dangerous. Feed on Dodos till you are better equipped.

Food and Find Guns

The two types of food should always be in motion. Two buffs would provide you with more health and a greater regeneration rate than simply eating a single food. Also, save Bandages, which when used, you must be well behind an obstacle since they take a long time to heal.

Gunpowder is extremely scarce as you cannot make it with a Millstone yet. You must get it by looting Pirate Camps or plundering dead pirates. You can save your bullets to shoot bosses and keep Pearls as a reserve ammunition in case you require it.

Using Fast Travel and Leveling Up

It is the fast travel system which involves Bells made by yourself. You may have 10 of them running at the same time. Keep one in your bag and place the first one in your main base. Place a Bell outside a dungeon to be able to go back home and empty your bag and warp back to the base.

Upon leveling, invest in the Vitality (health) and Strength (damage). Find gifts that enhance your Revenge Heal. When you have old equipment that you do not desire, then just toss it into the ocean so that you do not accidentally retrieve it.

Recipes to Learning and Sailing Your Ship

You can find new plans in the Curios section when you pick up new things. To see them in your building menu, you have to click Learn. The discovery of new materials such as Copper will open more possibilities to make such as Copper Tools. In addition, seek Treasure markers on your map to discover secret items such as Potions and Elixirs.

You will have your first ship after all. Sailing is a naval warfare game in which you play with your crew. Remember to carry your healing stuff in quick slots before you engage in a fight at sea. You can also hit a button so that your crew can sing Shanties on long journeys between islands.
