The beginning of missions is simple in Windrose, but Needle In A Haystack is a significant challenge. It is the initial principal story mission that requires you to deal with five various objectives, such as sea battles, and a boss fight with Israel Hands. Something very special is there, which can come to your aid, and one of the crew of Blackbeard is in possession of it.

You will have signs on your map to guide you, but you will need to expect a good deal of fighting at each of your stopping-places. This guide describes the steps to follow in clearing the camps, winning the ship battle, and destroying the boss to complete the mission.

Foothills Camps and Boarding the Unsinkable

You are to proceed to the western portion of the Foothills, and to search the pirate camps. To continue, you must fight all the enemies, and loot all Blackbeard Crew Chests that you encounter. Then you have to sail your ship eastwards to encounter four pirate ships in your way. When you sink them a bigger ship will come, the Unsinkable.

You must keep well out of the way and continue moving when you fire your cannons that you may not be struck. When the Unsinkable is feeble, bring your ship near it, and board on the Unsinkable. On the deck you must kill 5 enemies to get the clues you require.

Locating the Ruins and Keys to the Temple

Then saile to the northwestern Foothills, and take the marker at a camp towards some ruins. You are likely to come across wolves at the forest, be careful. In the camp, kill all the pirates and evade the grenades that they are throwing to you. As soon as the place is cleared, visit the desk on the left to hear about three Temple Keys.

Lieutenants have these keys in three different camps in the Foothills North. To obtain the keys, you need to clear every camp and defeat the leaders. One of them may be in the pocket of a dead pirate, and then be sure to inspect the bodies.

Overthrowing Israel Hands in the Temple

When you have all three keys, find the temple marker and fight the pirates who are guarding it. Next, inside, you will have to fight a boss, Israel Hands. Waiting until he swings to then give him a blow is the best method of winning. With proper timing of hits, it is possible to block his attacks and cause him much damage.

Be not too pushy, keep an eye on his trends and punish him when he misses. You will have the Charon's Obol after he falls. Before walking out, make sure to open the chest beside it in order to get a rare weapon known as the Soul Eater.

Setting the Captive and Escape of the Quest

You will find a man chained to the wall by the name of John, after the fight. Release him and discuss to him to complete work in the temple. You must now make your way home base. John will be there with Doctor Galen. In order to formally complete the quest, talk to the cartographer in your base. This great journey will enable you to have the resources and experience you will need in the next stage of the story.
