Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem has left Steam Early Access to a rather rocky launch. Players attempting to hop into its Online mode are encountering various issues, including the Game Creation Failed error. But why does it occur and can it be fixed?
The worst thing about the Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Game Creation Failed error is that it tends to appear after getting past the Steam Authentication Failed error that's also plaguing many players. That's when it occurred for us repeatedly.
Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Game Creation Failed error is also tied into the game's servers being unable to handle the large number of players attempting to jump into the ARPG on launch day. Sadly, this means that players can't really do much, aside from insistently clicking play and hoping for the best, which is far from an ideal solution.
The good news is that developer Wolcen Studio is aware of the Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Game Creation Failed error and other issues players are running into and is currently working to fix the server situation. While that might take some time, chances are that, eventually, the game's Online mode will let players in without issue. You can keep track of how things are progressing on Twitter.
Status update: we're still working on the server issues and we are currently in the process of increasing the amount of information processed on the database per second. We still have no ETA to provide for the moment but we'll keep you updated.
