Anthem Will Have Solo Play According to BioWare Studio Head
Single-player confirmed for Anthem
News by Grayshadow on May 10, 2018
It was confirmed days ago that Anthem would be releasing in Q4 of 2018's fiscal year and that a beta test is in the works. The publisher is hoping to obtain enough feedback from testing but no specifics of what the beta will contain was shared. However, in a blog post, BioWare General Manager Casey Hudson wanted to elaborate on certain things players can expect. Stating Anthem would be “an ever-changing multiplayer world”, players will be able to “choose to play through the story with only your friends, or even on your own."
Hudson assures that Anthem will have a solo experience but as you might expect many are still skeptical. Mostly due to EA's heavy use of loot boxes in their recent games Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Need for Speed Payback. Fans have become increasingly uneasy when CEO Andrew Wilson went on record to state that EA intends to move forward with the business model which have caused many fans to believe content may be locked behind a paywall or time-consuming grind.
Anthem is in development for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and will release in Q4 2018.
